I Know But

Both Niyaz and Jeff met Austin when he was writing the food blog “The Hungry Dogg.” Since then, Austin has become a radio DJ in Orange County. His show “What You Might Have Missed,” plays some of the coolest tracks from international, indie and pop stars most of us haven’t heard about yet. His other show plays all the 80’s tunes you love but probably haven’t heard in a while. We had a great conversation about the early days of Orange County food blogging and what it’s like to host your own radio show.

Heather Manning—aka Heather Hotcakes—is a pin-up model who recently landed her first magazine cover! She is also a health enthusiast, having successfully lost and kept off 100 lbs. through healthy eating, lots of running and a few half-marathons. We cover a lot of topics in this one including how to get and stay motivated to lose weight, pin-up culture, and body positivity!

Dave Schniepp has been one of the driving forces behind the Newport Beach Film Festival for years. He started out as a bouncer, (he knows karate) and now helps business development and logistics for the festival among other jobs and hobbies. We take a deep dive into what it takes to run a film festival, how many films are submitted and shown, plus some talk about freediving, which he does in his spare time.

John Kessler is the creator and CEO of Infinity Sauces. The award-winning hot sauce company started in Orange County with 1 sauce; John now produces a line of sauces that can be bought in stores and enjoyed at local restaurants.

Orange County Culinary Legend Zov Karamardian is our guest on the #IKnowButPodcast this week! Zov’s Restaurants have been a staple in Orange County since 1987 with the launch of Zov’s Bistro in Tustin. She’s cooked for the James Beard House, and with Julia Child and Emeril Lagasse among others.
