Overcoming Monday With Sharie King

This podcast is a message that Sharie King preached at Crossroads Summer Camp 2021 entitled: Becoming Aware of God’s Presence in Your Life. She preached message because it’s sometimes hard to hear God’s voice in the midst of all the other voices in this world. She focuses on the story of Exodus when Moses not only became aware of God’s presence when he encountered him in a burning bush, but also became aware of God’s call on his life. She provides practical ways we can all become more aware of God’s presence in our lives.

Sharie's son, Jacob King, an 18 year old recent high school graduate, talks about identity in Christ. With so many students and adults struggling to know who they really are, Jacob preached a strong message on finding our identity in Christ and not just in labels, work, performance and success. Rooted in scripture, he pointed out these simple but powerful truths: Our identity is found in Jesus. Our purpose is found in our identity. Our ultimate purpose is to glorify God and to make Him known.

On the final night of Crossroads Summer Camp 2021, Clayton preached a message called “How To Outlive Your Life.” He shared the story of Stephen, the first Christian martyr who boldly lived for Christ right up to the point of his death. He also told the story of a man from India who converted to faith in Jesus and then watched his family suffer severe persecution for their faith, and how God used their faithfulness to bring some of the persecutors to faith in Christ. We saw hundreds of students and adults respond to a call to ministry after this message.

Marquise Cox is a young adult pastor in San Antonio Texas and a Clayton King Ministries speaker. At Crossroads Summer Camps 2021, he preached a message called “Turn on the light," challenging the audience to shine the light on their junk, sin, and secrets in order to experience Jesus' healing. Just because our sins are hidden doesn’t mean they aren’t there, they aren’t heavy, and that we have dealt with them. (Psalm 32:3-5 and James 5:16).

Chris Dew travels to preach and also leads a recovery ministry. In this message, Chris teaches us Chris teaches us how to have courage in the Kingdom of God and the role that we play as believers in building the Kingdom. He helps us understand the Kingdom in practical, tangible ways. Chris has an amazing salvation testimony and is a gifted evangelist. You are going to love this message! Some of the scriptures Chris referenced are John 3:3 and Colossians 1:13. 

This podcast is a message by Tayla Bull entitled Friendship with the Holy Spirit. Tayla shares some practical truth about the Person of the Holy Spirit, and how we can know God through a friendship with the Holy Spirit. We don’t have to be afraid of the Spirit or confused by the Spirit. He can actually become our best friend. Scriptures used: John 14, 16, 2 Corinthians 12, Hebrews 4. 

This podcast is a message by Hykeng Paul entitled Fully Surrendered to Christ. Hykeng teaches on what it looks like to live on mission for God, how a fully surrendered life to Jesus is what discipleship looks like. Whitney Sullivan is a professional communicator for WLTX-TV in Columbia, SC, and an inspired communicator for Jesus. In this podcast, Whitney preaches on how we can fight unhealthy comparison, and I was incredibly challenged and inspired. Here's my favorite quote: “Don’t let your food get cold staring at someone else’s plate. Don’t lose focus on what the Lord wants to do in your life because you’re focusing on someone else’s.” 

In this podcast, Sharie's son, Jacob King who is an freshman in college, preaches a message about living a life of faith in a culture that often makes faith seem difficult. He helps define what faith actually is from scripture, and then gives practical ways to put faith into practice in our everyday lives. My favorite quote from Jacob’s message was, “Faith is believing in the God who has already won.”   

This podcast is a message by Sharie King from Crossroads Summer Camp 2021 called, How Knowing Jesus Changes Everything. Very often a relationship with Jesus is sold as a free gift which secures eternal life in heaven. But, our relationship with Christ, while it is a gift from God, it was not free. Our salvation not only required Jesus to sacrifice his life for us, but it also challenges us to “take up our cross and follow him.” Sharie teaches on what it means to take up our cross, and how Jesus changes everything.

Clayton's clarifies the meaning of salvation by telling the story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. He explains why Jesus waited several days to visit Lazarus after he discovered he was sick. The raising of Lazarus was the 7th miraculous sign recorded in John’s gospel, and proves that Jesus was the Messiah. Hundreds responded to this message of salvation each week of summer camp.
