Vintage Interview with Funhouse Massacre writer/star Ben Begley
20/10/2025 Duration: 19minIn 2015 Matt Kelly interviewed Ben Begley about Funhouse Massacre while at San Diego Comic Con for the Saint Mort Show. In honor of us covering that movie on the podcast we broke it out of vault! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Funhouse Massacre (2015)
16/10/2025 Duration: 41minOf all the Matt Kelly picks that Matt Kelly has ever picked for this show, THE FUNHOUSE MASSACRE (2015) is definitely up there as a certified MATT KELLY PICK - it’s a somewhat obscure slasher from a decade ago set on Halloween in a funhouse staffed by a colorful list of deranged serial killers! Robert Englund for one day of shooting! Clint Howard as a psychotic but apologetic human taxidermist! Blood! Guts! Slapstick comedy! Westler guy wearing a clown killer’s face skin! What more could any of us want?! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

City of the Living Dead (1980)
09/10/2025 Duration: 49minZombies are on our mind this week as we dive into part 1 of the Gates of Hell Trilogy thanks to Kyle! While this isn't Scott's first experience with the film, it is Matt and Kyles and we are floored by how fun it is (when it's not slow as a zombie)! Strap in from brain rips, evil priests and the end of the world this week on HORROR MOVIE NIGHT!! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Night of the Scarecrow (1995)
02/10/2025 Duration: 42minIt’s finally October, and there is likely no better way for us to kick off the finest month of the year than to discuss a very silly killer scarecrow movie that has sadly been mostly forgotten in the 30 years since its release - 1995’s NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW! If you need any sort of explanation for why this is prime HMN fodder, look no further than people dying from magical straw spewing from every orifice, a guy getting threshed to death by his own farm equipment, and of course a pilgrim sex orgy flashback. This one was hard to come by, so we’re hoping the HMN Effect gets it a proper Blu-ray release soon. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Pagan Invasion: Halloween - Trick or Treat? (1990)
25/09/2025 Duration: 47minRounding our Listener Submitted Month is a bit different film than our usual on the show, but still hits a lot of the same questionable beats so dammit, you’re going to listen to us deconstruct PAGAN INVASION VOLUME 1: HALLOWEEN - TRICK OR TREAT (1990). Shameless church propaganda from the first Satanic Panic (we are living through the second round currently), this one has more lies stuffed in its 47 minute runtime than candy in a boo bucket after hitting the rich people neighborhoods… You’d think the police would’ve followed up on the one guy’s assertions that he was part of a demon child trafficking sex cult if any of what he said was true, right? At least the theme song rips. If you grew up celebrating Family Fun Night while all your classmates were doing normal Halloween stuff, this one’s for you, you hopeless weirdo. Beyond Darkness (1990)
18/09/2025 Duration: 49minListener Submitted Month continues with another banger from 1990, Claudio Fragasso’s BEYOND DARKNESS! Released the same year as his more infamous, so-bad-it’s-good TROLL 2, both films starred Michael Stephenson as the tormented son of a father lacking any ability to tell that his family is in mortal danger. This one may suffer a bit from its actual cinematic competency compared to TROLL 2, but it’s still a wild ride of blasphemy, witches and exorcism. Welcome to our casa (5)! Hardware (1990)
11/09/2025 Duration: 42minLet’s go back to the bad old days when HMN was the Reddit Horror Club; at the time, we rotated through the members of the group, doing 2 movies a week chosen by different people. One of them was HARDWARE (1990), so it’s only fitting that over a decade later it’s suggested by a listener and here we are doing a proper discussion of it on the show! If you can ignore how much Richard Stanley put of himself into the pervy landlord (who gets absolutely ROCKED by the killer robot later on), this is an almost flawless slice of grimy cyberpunk/post-apocalyptic horror. Sleepover Nightmare (2005)
04/09/2025 Duration: 01h35sListener Submitted Month kicks off with a deep cut from our neighbor to the north. Sleepover Nightmare is in strong contention of being the cheapest movie we've ever covered (and that includes last week's Birdemic). This Canadian slasher film has the feeling of a shot on video 90's slasher but with a little less charm. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Birdemic: Shock & Terror (2010)
28/08/2025 Duration: 45minWe’ve been hard at work only discussing movies with anniversaries this year, and to show his displeasure, Matt chose to punish us all with the unwatchable BIRDEMIC: SHOCK AND TERROR (2010). Arguably one of the worst movies ever made. it really lives up to the hype and is without a doubt the dumbest thing we’ve ever discussed on the show. Hope you like terrible CGI bird clipart flapping in the foreground (though an argument can be made that it takes away some of the sting of the absolutely stupid dialogue). Species (1995)
21/08/2025 Duration: 46minLike many boys in the mid-90s, naked women were very scary for your gentle HMN hosts. The concept of their strange anatomy, ability to smell your fear (and possibly boners) as well as their heightened intelligence made them seem like they were from another planet… So of course we studied SPECIES (1995) for clues on how to defend ourselves. We’re grown up now but still mystified by the kinder sex (even though we live with them these days; we are simple creatures) and need a refresher on what to do about hot alien monsters. Let’s learn biology together on this week’s Horror Movie Night! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Flatliners (1990)
14/08/2025 Duration: 49minWe all make mistakes from time to time… Some of us accidentally bully a child to death (it’s ok if you’re also a kid. Maybe.) while others choose a movie set on Halloween to discuss in the middle of August. When we put it that way, it’s not quite so bad that we’re doing the supernaturally-charged medical thriller FLATLINERS (1990) this week on the show. Plus, it’s got an all-star cast of incredibly attractive people. Also Oliver Platt. Heat up the defibrillator and pop some melty candy corn in our mouths, it’s Horror Movie Night! Humanoids from the Deep (1980)
07/08/2025 Duration: 46minIt was said that we would never cover this film, but since it's 45th anniversary is this year and Matt need to get his quota of "stay out of the water" films, it was too much of a perfect storm to ignore! We dive into the good, the bad and the gooey aspects that craft this sleazy showstopper! Join our Patreon Follow us on Instagram, TikTok, Letterboxd and join our Facebook Group Buy our Merch! Hellraiser Inferno (2000)
31/07/2025 Duration: 49minDid someone say “Craig Sheffer back-to-back shows?” Because you bet your tush it’s a Craig Sheffer back-to-back show this week as we raise some H - E - double hockey sticks with 2000’s film noir HELLRAISER: INFERNO. This is actually a double two-fer, as we have now discussed both of Scott Derrickson’s directorial offerings in 2000, lest we forget about URBAN LEGENDS: FINAL CUT, which is ironically one month older than INFERNO. He was certainly busy at the beginning of the new millennium, but at what cost? Is this a good Hellraiser sequel? Is this really even a Hellraiser sequel? You can find a lot of opinions on the internet about it, and here we are with our own unsolicited review. What’s your pleasure? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Nightbreed (1990)
24/07/2025 Duration: 55minIt’s the height of summer and the days are heating up… Better head to the graveyard and hang with the B-Men (B stands for Barker, of course). We’re cooling down with the oiled up monsters of 1990’s NIGHTBREED, which some rightfully call “monster X-Men” while others questionably call “creatures I wouldn’t kick out of bed.” You get tons of cool monster designs, David Cronenberg as a serial killer psychiatrist, and of course the beloved Doug Bradley as the leader of the pack. It Came From Beneath the Seas (1955)
17/07/2025 Duration: 37minWe’re back with another installment of STAY OUT OF THE DAMN WATER and we got the illustrious Ray Harryhausen to demonstrate what happens if you don’t heed our warnings. It’s time for some Atomic Age scifi horror as we dive into 1955’s IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA, an age-old tale of why humans should leave cephalopods to their own devices. Otherwise you’ve got angry tentacles and the ability to squeeze into tight spots and guess what? No one wants that! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Crocodile (2000)
10/07/2025 Duration: 56minSpring break came a little late this year but don’t worry, the message stays the same - STAY OUT OF THE DAMN WATER! We’re pontooning like it’s the millennium with Tobe Hooper’s 2000-era romp CROCODILE. No matter what your drunk frat boy pals or the floozy with striped hair tells you, it is decidedly not safe to party in the swamp and bust open all of those mysterious reptile eggs you found. And don’t even think about stowing one away in your girlfriend’s backpack - she’ll have to carry it around like a fool while being chased by an angry lizard. Don’t drink and boat or you’ll get chomped in half this week on Horror Movie Night! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Return of the Living Dead (1985)
03/07/2025 Duration: 51minDo you wanna party? It’s party time! To celebrate 249 years of American independence, we’re resurrecting literally everyone in the graveyard for a dance-off and you’re invited (as long as you’ve got brains to spare). We’ve somehow gone 10 years without discussing it outright, so it was high time we kicked off Fourth of July with 1985’s RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD. You know it, you love it, now let’s quote it. Happy birthday America, you’re gonna get eaten by the sins of the past! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Revenge of the Creature (1955)
26/06/2025 Duration: 44minIt’s summer and Matt is back with his annual campaign, “Stay out of the damn water!” Kicking it off is the classic tale of man’s desire to control nature, 1955’s REVENGE OF THE CREATURE. These pesky American scientists couldn’t leave well enough alone so they went back to the Amazon, captured the gillman and brought him to Florida to teach him what it’s like to be an animal at Sea World via shock therapy. So basically how everyone feels living in Florida against their will. Marvel at the lengths science will go to put fish in pants on this week’s episode of Horror Movie Night!
