Here is an energetic Christmas selection for your older singers. The text is all Latin and we've set this in a 3-part voicing with part 3 being accessible to your lower, changing, and changed voices. It can also be performed as a unison piece using part 1 only. You'll want to be sure to observe the dynamics to bring out the most excitement in the song.

This wonderfully majestic piece was written to serve as an opening song for your Christmas, holiday, winter, or seasonal performances, but you can certainly use it as a closer or a featured "big tune" within a performance instead. It's deliberately modeled after grander traditional carols, but with the emphasis on the music of the season.

"My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean" or "Bring Back My Bonnie To Me" is a traditional Scottish folk tune. Our arrangement features mandolin and strings and incorporates a few chord substitutions for a unique feel.

Here's a very short and very simple tune for your youngest singers. Seasonal if you like, but not necessarily, it lets them pretend that they are little scarecrows chasing away crows. There are optional claps at the beginning as well as optional movement suggestions right on the music during the chorus at measure 9. Use them as is, or adapt however works for you.

Learning can be fun if we make it fun, so this tune is good for kids who might be struggling with leaving the joys of summer vacation behind as well as those who are already enthusiastic about school.

This is a fairly short medley of late medieval works, though, as with most music of the period, it has roots in earlier music, most of which is known only in fragments of manuscripts. The two songs are "Personent Hodie" and "Green Grow'th The Holly." They are both among the few carols from this period that are still regularly performed by contemporary ensembles, in some cases as they were originally performed, and in others as the basis for more modern works.
