Continually communicate with them, and if nothing else, be the best at staying connected to your sphere.  The growth part of the game is in acquiring new people to add to your sphere. That's done though events and calling FSBO and Exp'ds and fostering a great relationship with them. None of that will be done with one phone call, it's at least 7 for the majority of people.
