  • Previewing the Los Angeles Bowl w/ UCLA & Boise State and the Independence Bowl w/ Cal & Texas Tech

    14/12/2023 Duration: 01h24min

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions host Ryan Abraham is back in studio and David Woods is in a secured, nondisclosed location joining the show remotely previewing the first two Pac-12 bowl games of the season. These are the first two of what will be the final seven games played by Pac-12 programs (unless Washington can win and advance in the playoffs). On Saturday two teams from Conference of Champions will try to end their season on a high note with a bowl win. First up the UCLA Bruins will take on the Boise State Broncos in the Los Angeles Bowl hosted by Gronk held in SoFi Stadium. Less than two hours later the California Golden Bears will take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Shreveport, Louisiana at Independence Stadium. The guys preview both games and make their picks against the spread. They also discuss former Pac-12 quarterback Jayden Daniels winning the Heisman Trophy over Washington's Michael Penix and Oregon's Bo Nix. As usual Ryan and Dave end the podcast answering listener emails and que

  • Washington defeats Oregon again and makes the CFP in the final season of the Pac-12

    07/12/2023 Duration: 01h08min

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are back in studio recapping the very last Pac-12 Championship Game where 10-point underdog Washington took care of business against Oregon, claiming the final Pac-12 Championship in history and securing the first College Football Playoff berth since 2016. The Huskies are the overall No. 2 seed and will face No. 3 Texas (and UW former head coach Steve Sarkisian) for a chance to advance to the national championship game. The guys also discuss where the rest of the conference of champions programs are heading for bowl season, the Pac-2 schools coming up with a scheduling agreement with the Mountain West, two Pac-12 Heisman finalists, some coordinator hires in the conference plus the opening of the NCAA Transfer Portal. As usual Ryan and Dave end the podcast answering listener emails and questions from the YouTube chat. For the video simulcasts of our POC please subscribe to your YouTube channel! • Previewing the final Pac-12 Championship Game with Oregon and Washington fighting for a playoff spot

    30/11/2023 Duration: 01h07min

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are back in studio previewing what should be an exciting end to the Pac-12 football conference, a championship game in Las Vegas between 12-0 No. 3 ranked Washington and 11-1 No. 5 ranked Oregon. The Huskies have been in some close games but they have come out on the right end each and every week, posting the first ever undefeated conference season in the Pac-12 era. The Ducks have been blowing teams out left and right after their midseason loss to UW and they have revenge on their mind. Both teams have Heisman Trophy candidates at quarterback with Washington's Michael Penix and Oregon's Bo Nix, and both programs have a College Football Playoff berth on the line, which would be the conference's first since 2016. As usual Ryan and Dave end the podcast answering listener emails and questions from the YouTube chat. For the video simulcasts of our POC please subscribe to your YouTube channel! • Recap of the final Pac-12 football weekend w/ Oregon punching its ticket to play Washington in Vegas

    27/11/2023 Duration: 01h24min

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are back in studio recapping the very last Pac-12 regular season football weekend, not just for the season but unfortunately forever. We knew Washington had locked up the No. 1 seed for the Pac-12 Championship game but we didn't know who the Huskies would face. Now we do thanks to Oregon's beatdown of Oregon State in what could be the final game formerly known as the Civil War for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile the Huskies kept their playoff hopes alive with a narrow win in the Apple Cup over Washington State (luckily, that game is set to continue for at least the next five years). Arizona still had a shot at a conference championship until the Ducks took care of business, but that did not deter the Wildcats who absolutely dominated ASU in the Territorial Cup. A beat up Utah squad survived an upset bit from a beat up Colorado squad, Cal came into the Rose Bowl and gave the UCLA administration more to think about when it comes to

  • Recapping Pac-12 week 12 games including Washington topping Oregon State and Arizona beats Utah

    19/11/2023 Duration: 01h05min

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions host Ryan Abraham is podcasting solo with birthday boy David Woods off in Hawaii for another one of his numerous vacations. Ryan is back in studio recapping what was a full slate of week 12 games in the Pac-12 that featured two ranked-on-ranked games, Friday night lights, no Saturday Pac-12 After Dark, two rivalry games and three teams fighting to stay bowl eligible. The signature game featured the No. 5 Washington Huskies taking down the No. 11 Oregon State Beavers in rainy Corvallis. Despite a below average performance by Michael Penix and not scoring in the second half, UW was able to sneak out with a 22-20 win with the difference being a bad OSU punt snap that turned into a first half safety. No. 17 Arizona also made a statement by blowing out No. 22 Utah at home, jumping out 21-0 in the first quarter against a Utes squad that was once again banged up with key players out injured. In the rivalry games UCLA made a statement and rallied around embattled head coach

  • Previewing Pac-12 week 12 games including No. 5 Washington at No. 11 Oregon State

    16/11/2023 Duration: 01h53min

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are back in studio previewing a full slate of week 12 games in the Pac-12 that features two separate ranked-on-ranked matchups, two rivalry games, three teams trying to keep bowl eligibility alive, one Friday night game and no Pac-12 After Dark contests on Saturday night. The headline matchup is the last game of the day, featuring No. 5 Washington in Corvallis to take on No. 11 Oregon State at 4:30pm on ABC. The other contest featuring two ranked teams is No. 22 Utah on the road taking on No. 17 Arizona in Tucson. Week 12 gets going Friday night with Colorado taking on Washington State in Pullman and both the Buffs and Cougs need a win to keep their (slim) opportunity to play in the post season alive. Both USC and UCLA have faltered late in the season but something will have to give when the Trojans and the Bruins face off in the Coliseum at 12:30. No. 6 Oregon will head to the desert to take on their former offensive coordinator K

  • Recapping Pac-12 week 11 games including Washington topping Utah and ASU's upset of UCLA

    13/11/2023 Duration: 01h28min

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are back in studio recapping what was a full slate of week 11 games in the Pac-12 that featured Washington's comeback home win against Utah, Oregon taking care of USC in Autzen and Arizona State's huge upset of UCLA in the Rose Bowl. The guys start off the show talking about the breaking news that Arizona State athletic director Ray Anderson has resigned and the Sun Devils will look for a new AD to lead the athletic program into the Big 12. Anderson shouldn't have been hired in the first place and the fact that he lasted for a decade is baffling, but ASU does have a young, up and coming head coach in Kenny Dillingham and he could use a similar AD to help the transition to the new conference and navigate the changing landscape around college football. Washington moved to 10-0 on the season after shutting down Utah in the second half in Seattle. Oregon got 400 passing yards from Bo Nix as they took care of business against USC in Eug

  • Recapping Pac-12 week 10 games including Washington's huge win plus USC DC Alex Grinch fired

    05/11/2023 Duration: 01h37min

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are back in studio recapping what was a full slate of week 10 games in the Pac-12 that featured Washington putting up over 50 points on USC in the Coliseum to keep their undefeated season and playoff hopes alive. Oregon, Utah and Arizona also made statements with decisive wins while Oregon State survived a trip to Boulder and Stanford notched another road win against a struggling Cougars squad. The guys recap all of the action and reveal their latest Pac-12 Power rankings. Just before the show went live the news broke that USC defensive coordinator Alex Grinch was fired by Lincoln Riley. Dave and Ryan give their reaction to the news right at the top of the show. The featured game of the day did not showcase a lot of defense and ended up being a fun duel between Heisman Trophy candidates Caleb Williams and Michael Penix with plenty of run game support including Dillon Johnson's 256 yards rushing and four touchdowns. The Ducks are pl

  • Recapping Pac-12 week 9 games including Oregon thumping Utah and Arizona upsetting OSU

    30/10/2023 Duration: 01h26min

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are back in studio recapping what was a full slate of week 9 games in the Pac-12 that featured a blowout between title contenders, a pair of wins for the desert schools against Pacific Northwest teams, another near upset for Stanford over the undefeated Huskies and 99 points scored in Berkeley. The featured game of Oregon at Utah didn't live up to the hype, with the Ducks blowing the doors off the Utes, not even allowing them to score a touchdown in the 35-6 win. Cal built a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter over USC but the Golden Bears four turnovers and failed two-point try at the end gave the Trojans a 50-49 victory. Stanford gave Washington all it could handle on the Farm but the Huskies escaped with a 42-33 victory over the Cardinal. UCLA got off to a slow start that included four first half turnovers against Colorado and eventually the Bruins held on for a 28-16 victory over the Buffaloes. Home underdog Arizona State playe

The Utes are coming off a huge road win against USC and would love nothing more than to crush the College Football Playoff hopes of another program bound for the Big Ten. Speaking of the Trojans, at 1pm on Pac-12 Network they will play a Cal squad coming off a bye week up in Berkeley. Both teams desperately need a win in the last matchup (at least for a while) of this longstanding rivalry. The next window starts at 4 on FS1 with No. 5 Washington hits the road to take on Stanford. • Previewing a BIG Week Eight in the Pac-12, featuring No. 14 Utah at No. 18 USC

The action gets started on Saturday afternoon with Jake Dickert and Dan Lanning each looking to rebound as the Washington State Cougars head on the road to No. 9 Oregon. Oregon needs a win here to stay in contention for the Pac-12 title. The marquee matchup on Saturday features the No. 14 Utah Utes playing at the No. 18 USC Trojans. Can the Utes continue to figure out how to make chicken salad out of whatever is available on offense? Can USC rebound after a blowout at Notre Dame? In NorCal, all eyes will be on the No. 25 UCLA Bruins, who will look to rebound after a tough road loss against Oregon State in their matchup with Stanford. Stanford, meanwhile, is coming off a dramatic double-overtime road win against Colorado. Patsy no more? Finally, No. 5 Washington will play host to Arizon

  • Previewing an absolutely HUGE week seven of Pac-12 football featuring Oregon at Washington

    12/10/2023 Duration: 01h46min

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are back in studio previewing an extremely important week seven of Pac-12 football with games that could separate the contenders and the pretenders. The action gets started on Friday night with Coach Prime looking to improve the Buffaloes to 5-2 as Colorado hosts the reeling Stanford Cardinal. Could Troy Taylor and company shock the world and pick up their first conference win of the season in Boulder? The marquee matchup on Saturday features the No. 8 Oregon Ducks playing at the No. 7 Washington Huskies with ESPN's College Gameday making an appearance in Seattle. It's Michael Penix vs. Bo Nix with the winner having the inside track to make the Pac-12 Championship game plus have a leg up in the race for the Heisman Trophy. In a game that doesn't impact the conference race but could give the Pac-12 a boost in the fight to make the College Football Playoffs, No. 10 USC is on the road taking on No. 21 Notre Dame. If Caleb Williams can

  • Recapping all of the week 6 Pac-12 football action including UCLA's D coming to play against WSU

    10/10/2023 Duration: 02h07min

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are back in studio recapping a slow week six in the Pac-12 with Oregon, Washington, Utah and Stanford on bye weeks and no ranked-on-ranked matchups taking place.  Despite the lack of intrigue going into the weekend, there were some exciting finishes and results from all of the week six games, starting with a dominating defensive performance by the UCLA Bruins. Arguably no team was hotter than the Washington State Cougars but that hot streak ended Saturday in the Rose Bowl. Chip Kelly's squad isn't lighting up the scoreboard quite yet, but the defense is for real as Cam Ward and the Cougs found out. Coach Prime wasn't happy with the effort but his Buffs were able to go into Tempe and get the win against their future Big 12 foe Arizona State. Oregon State's defense took a few hits from California but the Beavers were able to push their record to 5-1 by hanging 50 on the Fighting Justin Wilcox's. The craziest game of the weekend came

  • Previewing Pac-12 football week six featuring Washington State at the Rose Bowl to face UCLA

    05/10/2023 Duration: 01h29min

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are back in studio previewing what looks like an underwhelming week of Pac-12 football with Oregon, Washington, Utah and Stanford on bye weeks and no ranked-on-ranked matchups on the schedule. The most intriguing game will happen at the historic Rose Bowl with Washington State facing off against UCLA with both teams coming off a bye week. The Cougars are fresh off their impressive home victory over Oregon State while the Bruins are trying to bounce back from their less than impressive offensive performance in Salt Lake City against Utah. Colorado will hit the road and try to bounce back from two-straight losses when they head to Tempe to take on a struggling Arizona State squad. Oregon State will test their ability to play on the road when they head south to take on California. Arizona nearly upset Washington at home and now they head to Los Angeles to try and upset the USC Trojans. The guys will preview all of the games and as alw
