It is common for the Republican establishment to dominate and suppress the Conservative movement when the party is in power. It is important to distinguish between the Radical Left and the Republicans in the House. The "saboteurs" within the party played a crucial role in ensuring that the Conservative principles were upheld when Kevin McCarthy became Speaker of the House. They held their ground in order to shape the new House rules to align with Conservative values.

Rep. Kevin McCarthy of California was elected as the next Speaker of the House by the U.S. House of Representatives after 15 rounds of voting. Six out of the 20 holdouts, or "saboteurs," did not vote for McCarthy. There was also some drama on the House floor. On Friday night, Rep. Mike Rogers became agitated with Rep. Matt Gaetz's refusal to vote for McCarthy and had to be restrained after lunging at Gaetz.

The group of 20 Republicans who are against a Kevin McCarthy speakership is holding firm. The House has gone through 11 rounds of voting without an election of a Speaker of the House.The losses for McCarthy are historic. This is the longest stretch of votes since 1859.

The House of Representatives held votes again today in an effort to select a new Speaker of the House. Kevin McCarthy has failed to secure the position after going through six rounds of voting. He has struggled to gain support from fellow Republicans. Without a Speaker sworn in, Congress is unable to move forward.

There is some drama in the House of Representatives as they try to elect a new Speaker. The 118th Congress began on Tuesday. Upon the start of the new Congress, they elect a Speaker of the House. Since Republicans have the majority, they will select a Republican. The top contender is Kevin McCarthy. He needs a majority of 217 votes to be Speaker. However, after 3 rounds of voting, he has not been elected. He's short 20 votes.

As conservatives, we should resolve to do one thing in 2023. Engage. We need to stay engaged because of what's at stake - the very country we call home. Our principles and ideas are rooted in the truth. It's our job to protect the truth and pass it on to the next generation.

Kari Lake has filed & is arguing her case before a Maricopa County Courthouse in regard to the November Gubernatorial race in Arizona. She is fighting for fair elections in her state. President Zelenskyy of Ukraine is in Washington D.C. meeting with President Biden and speaking to Congress. The Democrats are more concerned with destroying Donald Trump than they are about what's actually going on with spending. There is a 4100+ page proposed spending bill about to be passed. The bill includes border funding that is "prohibited" from being used to improve border security and a $410M giveaway to Middle Eastern countries to help secure their borders. No one will truly know what's in the bill, but it'll pass and massive spending will happen on the backs of the American taxpayer. Stanford University has come out with its updated, "Elimination of Harmful Language Initiative."

Donald Trump has been in the political crosshairs of the Left from Day 1. Democrats have feared him on a deep level & wanted him out of office, but unlike other Republicans, Trump fought back. The decision-makers in the Democrat party kept upping the ante. In that framework, we can understand the narrative and real motivation of the January 6 Committee. They do not want him back in office. The committee believes Trump played a role in what happened at the Capitol and has voted unanimously to refer the former President to the justice department for criminal prosecution on four counts.

The mayor of El Paso, Texas has declared a state of emergency as a surge of immigrants cross the southern border. The mayor is quoted as saying that he cannot guarantee the safety of El Paso residents. Law enforcement officers have been overwhelmed by arrivals. On Wednesday, December 21, Title 42 will expire. This policy reduced the number of asylum seekers the U.S. would allow during the COVID pandemic.

As of Tuesday morning, Kari Lake has been given the opportunity to make her case for election fraud in Maricopa County, Arizona. She ran for Governor as a Republican against Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs. After initial counts, Hobbs came out on top, but Kari Lake has contended that the election was mishandled. Also, the war on truth continues. Cambridge Dictionary recently changed the definition of what it means to be a woman.

CDC recommends that masks return during the "tripledemic" - Flu, RSV, and Covid-19. The IRS is tracking Venmo & other cash app payments. John Fetterman finds himself on a most fashionable list. Christian philanthropy accounted for 70% of all giving in 2022. They outgave the U.S. government in addressing global poverty.

Republicans will be taking over the House of Representatives in the New Year. They are beginning to talk about the possible investigations on the horizon. It is critically important that these new investigations be legitimate with no ulterior motives. The worst possible scenario is for Republicans to spend the next 2 years doing "investigations" that they plan to do nothing about, but instead use it as a campaign tool. 

Viktor Bout, "The Merchant of Death," is the Russian arms dealer that we traded to get Brittney Griner back after her arrest in Russia. Bout is described to be the worst of the worst, a terrorist, who conspired to kill Americans, and one of the most dangerous people on the planet. Griner was serving a 9-year sentence for drug smuggling and possession charges. While we're always glad to welcome Americans home if charges were illegitimate, ultimately we don't know, there are still reasons to be concerned with this prisoner swap. 

WNBA player Brittney Griner has been released from a Russian penal colony in a prisoner swap. She has been held on drug charges since February. Brittney was traded for Viktor Bout a Russian arms dealer described as the "Merchant of Death." Meanwhile, Marine Veteran Paul Whelan remains in Russian custody. Whelan was accused of and charged with espionage.

Our government should be focused on protecting the liberties of all Americans and not just those of a particular group. The media & government tend to pit one group against another to fit their narrative & push their agenda. All people should be treated equally under the law. Lady Justice is blindfolded for a reason. 

Time Magazine has named its finalists for Person of the Year. At the top of their list is President Zelensky of Ukraine. Also on the list are Xi Jinping of China, the US Supreme Court, Elon Musk, Ron DeSantis, Liz Cheney, MacKenzie Scott of Amazon, and the Iranian protesters. Some aren't happy about who's being considered.  But, why does this list matter? And, how can we use it to open up discussion?

Colorado graphic designer, Lorie Smith, is fighting for her right to free speech in front of the Supreme Court this week. She is taking on Colorado's anti-discrimination law that she says would "compel her to use her artistic talents, or speech, to create messages celebrating same-sex weddings."

Pay attention to what the media IS and is NOT talking about. The media controls the narrative. They shine a light on what they want the public to perceive as positive for their side and negative for the other. One story we've mentioned in passing, but the media is somewhat ignoring, is how Balenciaga ran a new fashion campaign sexualizing children. The fashion company hasn't been canceled, they haven't lost their bank accounts, and their celebrity clients for the most part are sticking with the brand.
