18. Influence Mix - March 2012
01/03/2012 Duration: 01h08minProgressive/Techno/Indie/House. This month's Influence mix is kinda like Jody Wisternoff and Jamie Jones having an argument over what music to play on the decks... And I love it... I must thank those two for exposing me to such fine tracks. After the first couple of introductory tracks this is the most fun I've had mixing house/tech-house for sure. Decided to give Serato Itch's effects a miss on this one and just concentrate on the mixing... There are a few loops and tweaks to keep things interesting though... Midnight City - M83, Nights Off - Siriusmo, De Palma - White Lions, Inspector Norse (original mix) - Todd Terje, Divertimento feat. Guti (Original Mix) - Phonique, DJ T. Feat. James Teej - Sense (Tale Of Us Remix) - DJ T., Waulking Song - Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Seelenluft - Manila (Ewan Pearson Mix) - Ewan Pearson, It's A Crime - Caribou Mix - Virgo Four, Battle For Middle You - Julio Bashmore, West Side - Bushwacka!, Costa Rica - Ticon, Pharaohs - SBTRKT, God Sent ('10) [Bonus Track] -

15. HypedMixes - July 2011
28/06/2011 Duration: 01h12minAmbient/Indie/Rock/Hip Hop/House. Another paradigm shift to bring me into line with today’s DJ climate: I’ve added my MacBook Pro to my Deejay setup and started using software to mix tracks along with my hardware. After a month of playing around and testing settings and different software, I’ve produced my first mix. By far the best thing about this is being able to mix so many different genres with relative ease. For today’s music scene and for your average listener, they don’t want to listen to pure electronic music for an hour: now’s zeitgeist is much more a combination of vocals, indie/alternative, house and electronica. A genre I’d call Indietronica. Software brings with it the ability to quickly choose tracks and mix them without having to prepare extensive tracklists and burning cds/ripping onto USB. This mix contains so many different styles: rock, hip-hop, downtempo, indie-rock, electronica, house and electronic funk. The possibilities for future mixes have suddenly got so much wider. I’m a happy b

14. Spring Clean
24/05/2011 Duration: 01h18minIndie/House/Techno. Here’s a mix bursting with juicy little numbers. It starts off quite indie alternative with the great tune ‘Tighten Up’ by the Black Keys and going through the quirky soundtrack of ‘Drive Away’. Eventually, the robots start to make a racket with ‘Tuff Enuff’, which finishes with a kind of harsh blowing up of the machines that then bursts into the deeper tech-house of ‘Picanha Frenesi’, Phonique and Dennis Ferrer. We then get some upbeat breaks and deep electro-house that eventually climaxes into some Stanton breaks with some final flourishes from Metric, Extrawelt and Boys Noize on the remix of Daft Punk’s Tron Legacy soundtrack ‘End of Line’. Might be a good soundtrack to do the cleaning to… The Black Keys – Tighten Up, Thomas Newman – Drive Away, Foster The People – Pumped Up Kicks, Shit Robot – Tuff Enuff (Michael Mayer Mix), Michael Mayer – Picanha Frenesi, Phonique – Deep Tune, Dennis Ferrer – Journey to the Sun, Max Sedgely feat. Tasita Dmour – Superstrong, Timo Maas – Help Me (f

01/05/2011 Duration: 51minAmbient DnB/Drum N Bass/Rolling/Dub. Here comes another mix from a different direction. I started listening to High Contrast recently as well as the Hospital podcasts and caught the bug of drum n bass. I searched through a few albums and put together a rolling collection of unmistakable quality. If you like fast and dynamic rolling tunes, these are for you. 12. Dubsteppin’
23/04/2011 Duration: 59minDubstep. Well, I just couldn’t resist. I’ve been putting together a fine collection of dubstep floorfillers for a while now and decided it was time to put a best of mix together. This is my first attempt at dubstep mixing and it was a lot of fun. These 17 tunes represent some of the real bangers of dubstep from the last year or so. The Magnetic Man trio of Benga, Skream and Artwork, plus Nero and Skrillex represent some of the most dynamic and freshest producers of bass heavy electronic tunes of today. Long may this dance music renaissance continue… Reso – Octacon, Magnetic Man – The Bug, Katy B feat. Ms. Dynamite – Lights On (Skream Mix), DJ Fresh – Gold Dush (Flux Pavilion Mix), La Roux – In for the Kill (Skrillex Mix), Skrillex – Equinox, Skream – Auto-Dub , Black Eyed Peas – Rock That Body (Skrillex Mix), Redlight feat. 11. March Madness (For Ed, Jez and Jody)
14/04/2011 Duration: 01h26minIndie/Deep House/Techno. After a few year hiatus from mixing, it was a Facebook posting by my old uni buddy, Jez Gibson of Jody Wisternoff’s ‘Intensified December’ Soundcloud mix that got me back listening to and thinking about tunes again like a DJ. In fact, listening to Jody’s mix really got me back into that deep & melodic, fluid house sound. This is definitely the sound I’m aiming for here once the first few intro tunes are out of the way. The mix was recorded at the end of March 2011 and is dedicated to the aforementioned Jez, Jody and another fantastic DJ & uni friend, Ed Massey who has become my long lost DJ pen pal friend across the Atlantic. Phonique feat. Erlend Oye – For the Time Being, Phonique – The Red Dress (Tiefschwarz Mix), The Hundred in the Hands – Pigeons, Flowers & Sea Creatures – A.M. (Ewan Pearson Re-Edit), Chymera – Ghosts, Ofrin – How Come (Phonique & Tigerskin Mix), Tigerskin – Everybody Likes Ollie, Phonique & Tigerskin – Shea’s Gone, Phonique feat. Ian White

10. Boxing Day
09/03/2011 Duration: 01h14minIndie/ House/Techno It is March 2011 and Jacko Mixes has evolved from mixing on Technics 1200s with vinyl to a completely new and revamped digital media turntable setup. The setup is 2 x Denon S3700s and an X1600 mixer with full onboard effects, USB compatibility and vinyl platters to retain that old school feel. Although the music files are now digital, the process is the same. This means no software is used to create the mixes, only to record them. The first mix is a bit of a test for recording levels and effects. It's a little bit raw in places but that kind of gives it character. Here's the tracklisting for this housetronic journey: 1. Cut Copy – Future, 2. Plastikman - Kriket 3. Brittney Spears – Me Against the Music (Justice Mix) 4. Zdar – Don’t You Want Me (Tiga Mix) 5. Feist – My Moon, My Man (Boys Noize Mix) 6. Simian Mobile Disco (feat. Alexis Tay) – Bad Blood 7. Hot Chip – One Life Stand 8. Jesse Rose – Night At The Dogs 9. Jesse Rose (feat. David E Sugar) – Miss Taker 10. Tiga – Overtime 11. B

5. Adrenaline Rush (*Explicit*)
17/10/2007 Duration: 01h19minTechno/Tech-House. This MixCast showcases a mix I did a few years back in 2005. If you don't like electronic music then you should pass this one by as it contains pure adrenalin fueled dancefloor tunes. It starts off with some foul mouthed fun from Miss Kitten. Be warned she is very explicit for a kitten! The start is very electro-clash but then goes through some melodic techno before going through some funky tech-house. It then takes in some breaks on the way before going very progressive house and progressive break-ish at the end. It contains some huge tunes from back in the early 2000s and is very influenced by some of the tunes that Sasha was playing back then. This is one to turn up the volume for... Or it could induce a migraine! This was live recorded on vinyl, mixed on 2 x Technics 1210 mark 5s. 1. Miss Kittin &The Hacker - Frank Sinatra 2001 2. Vitalic - Poney Part 2 3. Agoria - La 11eme Marche (Rollercoaster mix) 4. Slam - Bass Addiction (Envoy mix) 5. The Flash Brothers - Firm of Entity 6.
