Episodes

  • #172 - 8/8/22 Washington Nationals @ Chicago Cubs

    13/08/2022 Duration: 01h42min

The Juan Soto-less Washington Nationals come to town and the podcast is there to cover them for the first time! Darth Vader, Joel Murray, and an Andrelton Simmons fan were some of the dignitaries in attendance tonight. But, as is the trend, the bus trip was the story of the night. The guys befriend a young auto seeker dubbed "Doogie Grapher" and are quite confused about his age and his crusty baseball guy tendencies. Surely no one will yell "Luuuuuuuke" at Luke Voit again, right? Keep up with the auto count and see which players (or broadcasters) are cool and which are D's...

  • #171 - 7/29/22 Oakland Athletics @ Chicago White Sox

    02/08/2022 Duration: 01h33min

It's Lollapalooza weekend in Chicago and Jack and Jeremy (foolishly?) head to the southside to see the White Sox take on the Oakland A's. G-Rate Field throws a myriad of oddballs at the guys this week and we hear about bad anthem singers, vaping galore, and Baby Eddie Vedder?!? Jeremy gets flack multiple times for wearing an A's hat and Jack gets his view blocked by a couple of backwards hat-wearing bros. It was a non-stop barrage of ballpark bums that were only to be outdone by a raucous group of Lolla losers on the train ride home. Hear all about it on this week's ep!

  • #170 - Jose Canseco Baseball Camp & La Russa reporter meltdown videos + ASG Week recap

    23/07/2022 Duration: 01h12min

This week, Jack and Jeremy kick off the pod by talking about the damning video of a grown ass man shoving a little kid for an autograph at the All-Star game last week. The guys move on to talk about the draft and briefly about the game itself. Then we get a full recap of the infamous Jose Canseco Reddit AMA from several years ago and a breakdown of the ridiculous 1989 Jose Canseco Baseball Camp video on Youtube. The guys close out the ep by breaking down the Tony La Russa meltdown on a baseball writer from 1991 featuring a lot of great lines and tidbits and Dave Stewart!

  • #169 - 7/13/22 Baltimore Orioles @ Chicago Cubs

    17/07/2022 Duration: 02h02min

For the second time this season, the guys catch some red hot Baltimore Orioles action, this time at Wrigley Field. The guys find themselves sitting among a work outing of twenty-somethings who might work for a local sports media company yet behave as if they've never been to or watched an actual sporting event. Other highlights include Jack's gripes with the Catalina Club and Jeremy rants again about the abject futility of Daniel Norris. Out by the bus, the guys encounter a barrage of old, gray-haired men trying to get autographs and one bold and obnoxious father and son combo (a different one from Ick and the Stick). The guys get a pretty sweet autograph from a legend too! Check it out and catch that Orioles Fever!

  • #168 - 6/29/22 Cincinnati Reds @ Chicago Cubs

    06/07/2022 Duration: 02h17min

Strap in and hold on tight for an extra long episode this week! Jack and Jeremy experience one of the dumber Wrigley Field crowds they’ve had for the podcast including a boisterous frat boy, two dufuses who sit in their seats for literally two minutes, and a pair of annoying girls who did it all for the ‘gram. Then out at the bus, the guys get some very unexpected autographs which may include a guy who slapped another player this season over a fantasy football dispute (1:39:40). Jack and Jeremy also roast a few coaches and players who snubbed them for autographs. And finally, a previously discussed father and son grapher duo earn their way into the Rain Delay Theater Hall of Shame. This is kind of an angry episode, but hey, what do you expect when the weather turns hot and tensions rise?

  • #167 - 6/25/22 Baltimore Orioles @ Chicago White Sox

    28/06/2022 Duration: 01h48min

First Sox daygame! First bobblehead game! First time seeing the Orioles! NOT the first time a fan was ejected at a White Sox game! Join Jack and Jeremy this week as they recap a raucous-enough day White Sox game on the southside. The guys drive to the stadium and actually find free parking! Then it was running the gauntlet to get a Eloy Jimenez/Luis Robert bobblehead! A lot of excitement even before first pitch. But stay tuned for one of the funniest ejections of one of the most absurd characters ever encountered at G-Rate Field. Before the guys get into the game, we get a pretty decent Cubs/Jason Heyward/Gordon Wittenmeyer rant from Jeremy. Tune in!

  • #166 - 6/15/22 San Diego Padres @ Chicago Cubs

    21/06/2022 Duration: 01h51min

Jack and Jeremy return to live game action this week to see the Cubs take on the San Diego Padres. It was a sweltering night at the park and there were an unusual amount of oddballs in the stands for a Cubs game. Meet some new favorites like Abe Drinkin' (AKA Yankee Doodle Dandy), Big K, and Jennifer Garner?!? Jeremy talks about his run in with Alfonso Soriano, Jack is annoyed on multiple levels by an old guy stretching his legs, and the guys recap an active bus hang scene for the Padres. Several cool autographs and player interactions in this one! Mr. Musgrove...Mr. Musgrove...please check this episode out!

  • #165.5 - Minisode: Post Trip Check-in

    13/06/2022 Duration: 38min

Jack and Jeremy reconvene after Jeremy's trip to Scotland to check-in about the trip and former baseball player sighting at the Newark airport, the state of the Cubs and the Sox, and how long Tony LaRussa has as manager on the southside.

  • #165 - Guys Who Wouldn't Sweet Spot

    01/06/2022 Duration: 01h06min

Inspired by Madison Bumgarner and Clayton Kershaw, Jack and Jeremy come back at you this week to give you their list of guys who wouldn't sweet spot, aka guys who wouldn't autograph a baseball on the sweet spot for a fan. Is this just an episode where we list a bunch of guys we think are jerks? Maybe, but then again which episode of Rain Delay Theater isn't? Also, we're all treated to an angry rant from Jack at the top of the show about position players pitching.

  • #164 - 5/19/22 Arizona Diamondbacks @ Chicago Cubs

    25/05/2022 Duration: 01h56min

The guys are back at Wrigley to see the Cubs take on Zac Gallen and the Arizona Diamondbacks this week. The game turned out to me pretty tame but the scene out by the Dbacks team bus was happening! Check out the recap of Jack and Jeremy's autograph seeking and which players, new and old, they had success with! Then it's onto a local Wrigleyville bar, where the guys interacted with some surly Cardinals fans and a wild, Cubs nacho vendor who "struck it rich" at the Kentucky Derby!

  • #163 - 5/12/22 New York Yankees @ Chicago White Sox

    18/05/2022 Duration: 01h54min

Jack and Jeremy are back with yet another raucous White Sox game…but this time, there’s a big Rain Delay Theater moment for one of the guys - Jack got a foul ball! It happened in the top of the 9th inning, but the guys discuss it right up top of the recap, so be sure to tune in for that. Aside from the major triumph of the night, the boys dealt with the usual melange of freaks, goofballs, filth mouths, and miscreants they usually do at Sox games. Some highlights include a boisterous fan in an Adam Engel jersey, a dad who explains to his son that Yoan Moncada is a beast, a guy who needlessly swears in front of the aforementioned kid, a duo of drunk frat guys, and a kid whose jeans were “tight as fuck, tight as fuck”. Tune in for all of it…you’ve waited your whole life for this!!!

  • #162 - Guys Who Played 162 Games

    12/05/2022 Duration: 01h17min

In honor of episode 162 of the podcast, Jack and Jeremy go back in recent history to look at which guys played 162 games (or more) in a season. Some expected names, some surprises, and some guys who played 164 games...? We get a little bonus history lesson about baseball's old rules about tie games!

  • #161 - 4/29/22 Los Angeles Angels @ Chicago White Sox

    04/05/2022 Duration: 01h51min

The words "a crazy one" and "White Sox game" have become synonymous over the course of this podcast but this week the guys have quite the crazy White Sox game recap episode. There's lots of dumb, lewd, and sexually-charged comments screamed around Jack and Jeremy this week, but they don't stand up to the Richard and Joe Show that took place behind the guys at the game. An unsuspecting Angels fan, sitting alone (Joe) is accosted by a foul-mouthed, food-enthused tow truck business owner (Richard) and is held captive for over 3 hours as the game winds on - and the Rain Delay Theater boys are here to recap it all! We also have puking, foul ball near death experiences, and an incredibly embarrassing moment for Jeremy. This one is fully packed and fully off the wall! Tune in, you won't be disappointed. It's Rain Delay Theater at it's finest!

  • #160 - 2022 Season Over/Under Predictions

    29/04/2022 Duration: 02h03min

The long-awaited 2022 Over/Under episode is finally upon us! Hear Jack and Jeremy's over/under predictions about the Cubs, White Sox, Brewers, and more! How much faith do the guys have in Seiya Suzuki, Wander Franco, and Johnny Cueto? Tune in to find out! We also hear the hosts take on Angel Hernandez, Joc Pederson addressing a heckler in Milwaukee, and Jeremy finds a 1990 White Sox ticket stub, from Frank Thomas' 2nd career home game! Check it all out this week!

  • #159 - 4/18/22 Tampa Bay Rays @ Chicago Cubs

    22/04/2022 Duration: 01h39min

Jack and Jeremy are back at Wrigley to see the Cubs take on the Wander-less Tampa Bay Rays. The guys are challenged by various music-loving, random-yelling fans around them until one unruly spectator burns a hole right through Jack's soul! We also meet a true crusty baseball freak out by the Rays' charter bus! This ep also features some Hendricks hate, some Hermosillo love, and two Javy Guerras??? Tune in to hear for yourself!

  • #158 - 4/9/22 Milwaukee Brewers @ Chicago Cubs

    13/04/2022 Duration: 01h57min

The first game of the year is here for the Rain Delay boys! Jack and Jeremy head to Wrigley Field for a clash of division rivals and the tension wasn't only on the field! The guys have their usual beef with a group of very late arriving people who force them out of their seats. There's also a little static as a request by one co-host to record the Cubs/Brewers bench clearing situation doesn't go over so well with the other co-host. The guys also visit the Brewers team bus again and have a very cool run-in with a 1980s Cubs great outside of the stadium! Listen to the end to find out who! It was a triumphant return to the park for the podcast, enjoy it!

  • #157 - 2022 Opening Day Check-In

    07/04/2022 Duration: 57min

It's Opening Day 2022 and Jack and Jeremy drop in to give a little preview of the season! The guys talk about some Cubs, Sox, and Brewers who made the squad, some rookies who made the Opening Day roster, and some bums who decided to hang it up. We also hear about some real bets the guys made for the 2022 season and a new "Jack has to wear a Javy Baez jersey to a non-Cubs Brewers home game" prop bet is set! Baseball is here, hallelujah!

  • #156 - Predictions for the 2022 Season

    30/03/2022 Duration: 01h23min

With the 2022 season quickly approaching, Jack and Jeremy make their annual (legit) baseball predictions. We hear the guys’ picks for division, pennant, and World Series winners. We also get their individual award winner predictions as well, with a real stunner of a pick for NL MVP by Jack. Tune in and get ready for the 2022 baseball season!

  • #155 - 2022 Non-Roster Invitees

    23/03/2022 Duration: 01h58min

The Rain Delay boys are back to bring you another non-roster invitee episode this spring! It's the usual drill as Jack and Jeremy run down a list of fringe guys, former Cubs bums, and guys who you thought were long retired, trying to stick with a ballclub this season. Many names will get mentioned and Chris Owings gets dumped on again this year! Check it out. The guys also run down their respective, separate trips to sporting events as Jeremy recounts his trip to the UIC Flames baseball home opener and Jack talks about seeing first round action in the NCAA March Madness tournament. This one gets goofy, sorry Carl Edwards Jr!

  • #154 - Baseball Villains and Victims + The Lockout Is Over!!!

    14/03/2022 Duration: 01h24min

This week, Jack and Jeremy celebrate the end of the lockout and welcome in the 2022 season! Rob Manfred made his identity as a baseball villain very clear during this lockout and the Rain Delay crew decided to compile their own list of baseball villains and victims. The guys also breakdown the new CBA, talk about some free agent signings in the wake of the new agreement, and also talk about Joe Buck's likely departure from Fox Sports. Tune in and celebrate the return of baseball!
