We also hear a rare early episode Jeremy story of a car accident near the UIC campus and Jack makes some heavy implications about a Wisconsin basketball coach! The guys also talk NC State baseball folk hero Tommy White and the current status of the MLB lockout. Tune in and remember, snitches get stitches!

    18/02/2022 Duration: 01h33min

This week, Jack and Jeremy build an All-Cubs/Brewers roster of players who played for both franchises. The guys try to pick one player for each position and it was harder than you'd think - sometimes for good, but mostly for bad reasons. Let's just say, there's a few weak spots in the lineup... The guys also talk about the release of Series 1 of 2022 Topps baseball cards and the contract extensions of Boog Sciambi and Jim Deshaies. Man, we really hope this stupid lockout ends soon...

    05/02/2022 Duration: 01h25min

With the MLB Lockout dragging on with no end in sight and spring training right around the corner, Jack and Jeremy decide to dig into the issues at hand and try to make sense of it all. The guys break down the handful of issues being negotiated right now and try to explain them and give a little perspective. We also hear a recap of the (real) HOF voting and the guys go on many tangents including reminiscing about Greg Oden's infamous bathroom selfie and the possibility of Eric Thames crushing a Japanese man to death with his giant arms.

Tune in to see how the guys vote! Also, we hear about a major card pulled by Jeremy and the guys discuss The Innings Festival - a music fest coming to Tempe, Arizona next month! We learn that Jack is NOT AT ALL a fan of live music, but is an explanation given...? Listen for yourself!

  • #148 - The Twelve Days of Baseball

    23/12/2021 Duration: 55min

Rain Delay Theater gets in the Christmas spirit this week as Jack and Jeremy re-write the classic song "The Twelve Days of Christmas" with a new baseball-themed version and a RDT twist - warning it gets a little raunchy around the seventh day... See which podcast favorites and whipping boys make the list. Also, this week's #148 guy elicits a very cringeworthy story from Jeremy - enjoy that right at the top of the show! Ho ho ho, Happy Holidays, everyone!

    09/12/2021 Duration: 01h42min

Jack and Jeremy come to you this week with another watch-along recap episode. This time, the guys move to the world of television and, more specifically, 1990s teen melodrama Beverly Hills, 90210. The episode follows Brandon (Jason Priestley) and Steve (Ian Ziering) as they coach a local little league team and deal with bad sportsmanship, a nose-picking slovenly teammate, and a skeezy commissioner/high level wiseguy person who wants to win at all costs. Listen in as Jeremy first schools Jack about 90210 and all the characters and then for their recap of this wacko episode that was certainly one of the more juvenile of the series. Play ball!

  • #146 - The Damian Miller Lockout Challenge

    03/12/2021 Duration: 01h29min

Damian Miller "looks like he's no fun to hang out with", that's clear to see, at least if you're past guest Marc Bubblebath. • #142 - Guys Who Gave Up Significant Homers...kinda + World Series Wrap-up

    05/11/2021 Duration: 01h24min

Inspired by last week's discussion about Mike Morgan giving up Mark McGwire's 61st home run in 1998, the guys decided to go back and take a look at some other home runs, significant and not-so-significant, in baseball history and see who gave them up. Jack and Jeremy also wrap up the 2021 World Series, talk about how the Braves fleeced the league for their revamped outfield, and drag Aaron Rodgers for lying about being vaccinated...great guy alert!

  • #141 - Blaming Someone for the World Series Loss (2005-2020)

    30/10/2021 Duration: 01h23min

Your team lost the World Series, but who's to blame? No one, it's a team sport, right? Wrong! Jack and Jeremy go back to the last 16 teams who lost the World Series and find one person to blame for the loss. Unfair? Maybe. Completely on-brand for Rain Delay Theater? You know it! The guys also check in on the uninspiring Astros/Braves World Series matchup and talk about the guy who gave back Tom Brady's 600th career TD ball (that's how much we're into this World Series...).

  • #140 - Players Who Changed Their Names

    22/10/2021 Duration: 01h15min

  • #139 - Hypothetical Bad Contract Trades + End of the White Sox Season

    15/10/2021 Duration: 01h10min

Jack and Jeremy take a look at some bad contracts in baseball and try to see if we can propose some trades that will help out both teams...or at least move around some players who may be destined for jail. Before that, the guys talk about the Division Series' and the elimination of any interesting teams left. And, of course, the guys touch on the end of the White Sox season, John Cusack, Cane Guy, and the Leury Garcia tattoo guy.

  • #138 - Playoff Preview 2021

    07/10/2021 Duration: 57min

The Wild Card Games are in the books so Jack and Jeremy recap them as well as preview the LDS series' coming up. The guys also talk about Ozzie Guillen's local Emmy nomination, Frank Thomas buying the Field of Dreams, Dusty Baker drinking champagne out of a shoe, the departures/firings of some managers and Cubs coaches, and also Jeremy's solo experience of autograph hunting at Wrigley the day after the season ended. Check it out, if for nothing else, to hear us dump on Mike Shildt yet again.

  • #137 - 9/29/21 Cincinnati Reds @ Chicago White Sox

    03/10/2021 Duration: 01h40min

For the final time this season, Jack and Jeremy head out to the ballpark to see the White Sox take on the Reds in a game that was kinda bad and left an overall dirty feeling on the guys. Our duo deal with some tension sneaking into the 100 level and are surrounded by numerous unpleasant characters in their section. The night may have been saved by a delicious Spicy Ditka Polish and a bargain bin shirsey purchase by Jack. The guys also give a final tally of stats after the 2021 season and a look at the playoff picture as it stands a day before the season ends. Tune into the final game recap of the 2021 baseball season...unless you all want to crowdfund a couple of White Sox playoff tickets.... ;)

  • #136 - 9/22/21 Minnesota Twins @ Chicago Cubs

    24/09/2021 Duration: 02h24s

The Rain Delay boys head out to a Cubs game for one last time this season and take in their first game for the pod from the famous Wrigley Field bleachers. The guys get to meet Bleacher Jeff, experience some bleacher bum security guards, and learn about the secret value of shoestrings. Jeremy also partakes in some exclusive bleacher food from Hot Doug's! The real show comes after, once again, when Jack and Jeremy venture over to the Twins team bus and, inexplicably, witness the #OneChipChallenge with the Twins bus driver and some knucklehead fans hanging around. There's also a run-in with a weird security guard who encourages the guys to make money selling autographs on eBay. The Cubs season luckily wraps up in the weirdest of ways for our duo, so please check out this ep to hear all about it!

    15/09/2021 Duration: 02h06min

Jack and Jeremy return to the site of episode 5 of the pod, Beloit, Wisconsin, to see the Beloit Snappers take on the South Bend Cubs in High-A minor league action! In this episode, Jeremy is accosted by a Chicago-hating Wisconsin yokel, a super-twangy National Anthem is sung, a Johnny Carson-soundalike PA announcer, and VOMIT! Check out all that Beloit has to offer our podcast duo! The guys also weigh in on how their views of the autograph freaks have changed over 130 episodes of the pod. Enjoy!

  • #134 - 9/3/21 Pittsburgh Pirates @ Chicago Cubs

    08/09/2021 Duration: 01h44min

For the second time in one week, Rain Delay Theater is taking in some quality Pirates baseball! Not really, but they did see them play twice. This time on the northside against the Chicago Cubs! We hear tales about a group of four older guys with young guy shenanigans...and wine. We also hear about an ill-fated non-bleachers beer snake, a Ditka lookalike, and more visiting team autograph hijinks, including a Polish man who wants Pirates autographs but only visits the US once every 10 years! What? Just listen to find out.
