  • "Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying" - My EOY Ramblings

    28/12/2021 Duration: 36min

EP 245 is an insightful self-reflection on the fragility of life.  I recognized recently with the passing of filmmaker Jean-Marc Vallee, my own mortality. At 58 years old (the same age as he), I was struck by how quickly life can change, how much time I really do have left on this planet, and the age-old question of my own journey.  Am I running towards something, or running away?  Am I busy living, or am I busy dying?  At the end of the day, none of us get to define our timeline, but we do get to define how we spend what we have.  Are you spending wisely, are you defining your own growth and exploration, or is it being defined for you?  Questions worth our contemplation. I'll be releasing a little micro-course on my website to get you started in 2022 with your own personal reflection and direction www.lymlab.com If you liked this EP, please take the time to rate and comment, share with a friend, and connect with us on social channels IG @Kingopain, TW @BuiltbyScott, LI+FB Scott Livingston. 14/12/2021 Duration: 01h16min

This week's EP is a fantastic performance conversation with my good buddy, Jeremy Sheppard.  Jer is one of those eclectic souls whose professional acumen is shadowed by his incredible character and humility. He's been in the world of human performance coaching athletes of just about every dimension, but his heart sings for the boards of surf and snow.  He currently takes care of Canada's greatest snowboarders and is ramping up his work heading into this winter's Olympic games. He took some time out to chat with me about stewardship, mentorship, and leadership.  The good, the bad, and the ugly, and what his experience and personal process have exposed to him in his own evolution in performance sport. • Sunday Re-Marks - Becoming a Parent - It Ain't Easy

    21/11/2021 Duration: 28min

In this EP I thought I would talk truthfully about my own journey as a dad. I think sometimes we get whisked into the vortex of what it should be instead of understanding what it is, and simply understanding what it is can allow us the room to be comfortable with our own insecurities and fears, and see the experience as an opportunity for our growth.  I hope it's valuable for you. • Rolling in the Deep with Stu McMillan

    05/10/2021 Duration: 01h26min

EP 232 of the Leave Your Mark is a deep and thoughtful conversation with my friend and peer, Stu McMillan.  It's the second time I've had him as a guest, the third issue of his content (we did a little Performance Lab together as well a while back). Our paths crossed maybe fifteen years ago now, we were performance coaches at opposite ends of Canada working with elite athletes.  We shared a common vision of improving athletic performance and resilience, but we didn't really know it at the time.  There was both a mutual admiration, but a mutual distrust in those early years.  We didn't really know what to make of one another, and we didn't really try. Segue forward and Stu has become a friend, and someone I admire for his ability to re-invent himself, explore multiple dynamics, be at the top of his game, question his own abilities and approaches, and live an eclectic life.  From DJ to writer, to coach, and to entrepreneur, these are but a few of the elements that make Stu unique. I tru

  • Sunday Re-Marks - The Value in Transcending Experiences

    03/10/2021 Duration: 19min

This EP is a Sunday ReMarks where I get into the idea of how to transcend experience.  Good or bad, or even mundane.  An experience misunderstood or dismissed is an experience lost.  Even the labeling of the experience is suspect.  An experience deemed negative in a moment can turn out to be transformative and re-directional to a place of greater happiness, or fulfillment.  The truth is we don't know, so why label it at all. Just learn about yourself and others from it, course correct, and move onward.  Enjoy! If you liked this EP, please take the time to rate and comment, share with a friend, and connect with us on social channels IG @Kingopain, TW @BuiltbyScott, LI+FB Scott Livingston. EP 229 is a Sunday Re-Marks session all about manifesting change and growth in your life.  Change starts with a connection to why you want to change, for, without this intentionality, the journey will be more difficult than necessary, and sometimes unachievable.  We need this sense of connection to why we're doing things for when the tough times arrive because there will always be tough times.
