Formerly Features Editor at the UK Sunday Times Style magazine, in 2012 she launched The Numinous, a cosmic lifestyle platform that speaks to all things “new age” for life in the Now Age. More recently she’s just completed her next book – Sober Curious – which follows her inspiring journey to sobriety and what it really means to become sober and live a drink-free, happy and liberated life. Its a journey I’ve been on myself and struggled with and I know a lot of other people probably want to try to reduce their intake or become fully sober. In this talk we jumped deep into that to figure out answers that can help everyone looking to go sober.

Nick Mulvey: Making Music With Soul
09/10/2018 Duration: 57minNick Mulvey is someone who’s been at the top of my Spotify playlists for years now and someone I’ve followed right from his early EPs back in 2014. His debut album First Mind was an amazing release that got a Mercury Prize nomination but its his second album – Wake Up Now – released last year that really showed a big shift in his personal vulnerability and willingness to address deep issues. The album explores a lot of really profound topics on what it means to be human and what it means to be truly alive. Talking about themes like awakening, being present, being mindful and our response to the refugee crisis. It was a big departure from some of the safer territory of traditional singer-songwriters and showed both a big step in terms of personal vulnerability but also trailblazing a way into more conscious music making. In this talk we spoke about what was going on inside his head between the albums, what that journey of ever deeper personal vulnerability in the music is like, and how he feels now its come ou

09/10/2018 Duration: 43minAnna Murray is one of the co-founders of the awesome company Patternity and is someone who loves to explore patterns and the hidden role they play in our minds and in our lives. Patternity started out nearly 10 years ago now as a simple blog sharing images comparing these patterns from things as unusual as smarties to window wipes to garden fences. The project seemed to tap into people’s deep desire to find and make sense of these little maps of meaning in our lives and partnering up with Grace Winteringham they started up full time and now create patterns for major brands like John Lewis, Vogue and the BBC. What’s really awesome is they’ve been looking more deeply into the wellness aspect of patterns recently and how they can promote mindfulness, stillness and a sense of connection as we learn to look around and feel a sense of intimacy with our surroundings once more. Like me Anna went through corporate-life and also a downturn in wellbeing which we talk about in the episode and for me makes her journey int

Stephen Reid: Using Psychedelics For Mental Health (Spotlight)
09/10/2018 Duration: 38minStephen Reid is the Founder of the UK’s Psychedelic Society, an amazing organisation advocating for the conscious use of psychedelics in the UK. It is currently campaigning for the rescheduling of psilocybin (that’s magic mushrooms) to treat people with depression. Since I took my own excursion down to Peru a couple of years ago to take ayahuasca I’ve been fascinated about the healing properties of psychedelics. When I was down there I saw so much amazing healing and revelation that now I see the ceremonial and proper usage of psychedelics as such a vital thing for many people. I find its always really interesting to talk about psychedelics with people because it brings up so many different perspectives and opinions, especially when there is relatively little info out there. So I wanted to ask Stephen all about his perspective, what the real deal on psychedelics is, and whether its all a government conspiracy to keep us under control. See what you think!
