If we recognise that Jesus is with us in the storm or ready to meet us in the storm ahead, we simply need to ask Him for guidance and help. It seems in the story of Peter walking on the water (Matthew 14:22-36) we see that Peter wanted more than anything to be close to Jesus. So he asked Jesus if he could walk on the water. He moved from being a passive observer of the supernatural, to being an active participant!

"Anyone who believes in Me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from His heart.’" (When He said “living water,” He was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in Him. (John 7:38-39a)

The stories in the first twelve chapters of Acts are about a church in mission mode. What can we learn from them for our continuing mission today?

God is always near; it's our awareness of Him that ebbs and flows. It's our choice whether we are present in His presence or not. If we choose to, we can be like a magnet for God's presence.

Steve & Lynn Blackah, whom we sent out a number of years ago to minister a work in France, paid us a visit this weekend. Over the last year they have been students at the School of Supernatural Ministry (Bethel Church, Redding, CA). They tell a story of personal growth and amazing testimonies.

The grace of God is so empowering when we are able to grasp what it means for us, not only at the point of salvation but in our daily walking with God and doing His will.

Using the life of Caleb from the story in the Biblical book of Joshua, chapter 14, Stu Allan encourages us to claim the prophetic words spoken over us as a church. (Please forgive the sound quality of this week's talk.)

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 14:1 (NLT): "Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives - especially the ability to prophesy." The NIV translation puts it like this: "Eagerly desire the gifts of the Spirit, especially prophesy." When God tells us to desire specific gifts, it's because He wants to give us them! Not because we've earned them or deserve them, but because He is our Good Father, who loves to give gifts to His children.

Geoff Newton shares a word concerning how we should view our reputation.

"I'm not prepared to settle for a positive reputation; I want to see our local community and our city changed with Good News of Jesus Christ. I want to see this in my lifetime; I want to leave a legacy that says I did all that I could with all that God gave me, that I was a good and faithful servant. Do you want this for yourself too?" - Mark Kelly

Stu Allan reminds us of a prophectic word spoken over us a few years ago; that we are to be like a wildfire in our city!

In May 2016 we celebrated 35 years of the church being birthed, 10 years since our senior leaders and elders, Mark & Kathi Kelly, became part of the leadership team, and 1 whole year since our church move to East End Park / Richmond Hill.

When we sign up for this thing called Christianity, it is not like joining the Boy Scouts, we become new creatures. And with that change there are some things that become available to us. We have more to offer than nice and encouraging words. We have a power that is available to those who are willing to search out the source.

Mark Kelly preaches a Palm Sunday sermon and challenges us to think about God's Kingdom in a way that is not of this earth!
