This is a follow up to #Mixed, Midwifery & Facial Tattoos.    Our girl Kati has some follow up questions that Rowan asks DeShaun to weigh in on re midwifery programs and apprenticeships.  We all agree that "clean and neat" in appearance is subjective, and most likely is code for, as DeShaun says, "Look like a white girl."  Ugh.   So it is a real and gritty convo, and we desperately need all the midwives and future midwives to get this show on the road cause we need ya. How do we even combat that? Our kids conforming to gender roles to be cool or fit in or whatever while parts of ourselves die and we navigate explaining that its ok to be you. Gender Bread Person is a cool tool  From there we flowed into consent and teaching consent and what does that look like when you are peeling an unconsenting kid off their sibling who did not consent to get crawled all over.
