The Talent

The Talent was joined by soprano Louise Keast and pianist Ray Liang on 2nd April 2019. The mentors for the show were Leigh Harrold and Suzanne Johnston.

Violist Jamie Miles and pianist Po Goh joined us for The Talent for a wonderful night of music. Mentors Leigh Harrold and Sarah Curro were on the pannel giving their insight and feedback.

In Episode 3 of The Talent, we had a beautiful performance by young cellist, Ji Woo Yoon. We were also joined by special guest, Jennifer Timmins, winner of The Talent Season 1 2018. Thanks to mentors Leigh Harrold and Zoe Knighton for their insightful feedback for this episode.

We're off to a flying start with Episode 2 of Series 2 of The Talent 2018 - Both Lily and the Briar String Quartet smashed out some incredible performances including an Widmung by Schumann as well as Chris Perren's brilliant 'A Luminous Moment, Unfolded'. Providing their comments and ideas from the other side of the soundproofed glass are guest mentor and violinist Madeleine Jevons, and this season's resident mentor and pianist Christopher Tonkin.

We're up to our last performers of the season already! This week are lyric tenor Lyndon Green and saxophonist Ryan Lynch performing the works of Wolf, Tosti, Tomasi, and Australian Matthew Hindson. Saxophonist Stuart Byrne and conductor Andrew Wailes join us on the mentoring panel this week to share their valuable feedback.

This episode marks the week of the piano here at The Talent, with pianists Sine Winther and Meyrem Ogutveren shocasing the rich repertoire for the piano including Ravel, Lizst and Bach. We are joined by the pianist and founding member of Syzygy Ensemble Leigh Harrold alongside violinist Markiyan Melnychenko providing some instrumental diversity.

This week we are joined by Richard Shaw on clarinet performing works by Schubert and Kats-Chernin, and pianist Timothy Kan performing Chopin's Rondo in C minor and Australian Marjorie Hesse's Valse Gracieuse. Accompanying our series mentor Markiyan Melnychenko this week is clarinetist and member of Arcadia Quintet Lloyd Van't Hoff.

Providing some stellar performances this week are violinst Leon Fei and mezzo-soprano Lucy Schiller, featuring works by Tchaikovsky, Weiniawski and Mahler to name a few. Special guest mentor and violinist Wilma Smith joins us and provides inspiring feedback for our performers.
