This week’s episode felt like a warm hug as Keith, Victoria and J Paul were joined by special guest, SY-1. Starting off with a few checkins, Keith boldly revisited Jared’s now infamous bestiality argument (if you’re new here, please reference episode 009) in an attempt to clear his dear friend’s name. Did he pull it off? You be the judge. The conversation then pivoted to the much discussed Red Table Talk with Will and Jada after August Alsina told all about his entanglement with Mrs. Pickett-Smith. The group gave their thoughts, which led to a discussion around what marriage should look like in 2020 as believers. Keith shared some MAJOR life news. Don’t try to guess, just listen. The conversation rounded out speaking about Natasha McKenna as the group continues to bring light to women whose lives were taken by police brutality. You’ll have to hear it to believe it but J Paul graced the pod this week and a good time was had! This weeks’s episode kicked off with Keith, Victoria and J discussing Terry Coons’...sorry Crews’ latest infraction, the Redskins and Indians “looking into” changing their wildly offensive names and the “strain” between Black folk and July 4th (spoiler alert: ain’t no strain). They then touched on Kanye fake running for President and August Alsina spilling the tea with Angela Yee about his alleged relationship with Jada Pinkett-Smith. Human sized bats and the bubonic plague also made their way into the convo because that’s their business and yours too. There were some topics that the crew will revisit next week so use that as your motivation to come back and kick it. A discussion was had about how they’re really feeling and the power of owning those feelings during this time. They then unpacked the growing movement behind defunding the police vs the #8cantwait platform, the “cute” new Black Live Matter plaza, and the fact that Drew Brees is probably about to have a rough season. They also exiled Terry Crews to the same island as Shameik Moore; ain’t no trades. The episode wrapped with Keith and Victoria discussing the dangerous comparison some make between the religion slave owners claimed and what true Christian faith is in light who God actually is.
