Trek News And Views: A Star Trek Podcast

TNG Seasons 4 - 6. This week we’re joined by Charlynn Schmiedt from The Delta Quadrant, Miles McLoughlin from SciFi Diner, and Mike from Commentary Track Stars to discuss our favorite episodes from Star Trek: The Next Generation seasons four through six.

The Borg. (Sort of.) This week we’re joined by Carl from the Stolen Droids podcast and the gang from the Trek Mate podcast. We set out to discuss the Borg but we took a few unexpected turns down some transwarp conduits… so in the end we were only “Borgish.” In news we look at the slew of movie rumors that have been swirling this week including Cumberbatch as Khan, the appearance of Klingons, and a possible guest spot for Leonard Nimoy. We also have news about Creation’s New Jersey con and Destination Star Trek London, plus a lot of Star Trek Online news including the May schedule for rotating feature episodes that offer unique awards and the Caitian Atrox Carrier. And on a very sad note, we remember composer Joel Goldsmith, who passed away on April 29 and the age of 54. 

Strange New World.  This week we’re joined by Brian from the Lou Trek Show as we discuss the Enterprise episode “Strange New World,” part of our endeavor to cover all of ENT in order. In news we look at new ships coming to Star Trek Online, the upcoming console game based on the J.J. Abrams Star Trek, autograph and ticket price information for Destination Star Trek London, and some movie news.

TNG Seasons 1-3. This week we’re joined by Charlynn along with Mike from Commentary Track Stars to talk about our favorite episodes from the first three seasons of The Next Generation. 

Star Trek Online. This week we’re joined by Larry and Xander to discuss STO. 

Fight or Flight. First we’re joined by Brandon from Cryptic Studios to talk about STO, and then Lou Trek of the Lou Trek Show and Brian return as we talk about “Fight or Flight” from Enterprise.

The Doctors. This week we discuss the various doctors of Star Trek and cover a variety of Star Trek news.

DS9. This week we discuss Deep Space Nine as Joe and John join us once again. We also cover a variety of news and collectables.

The Captains. In this episode I am joined by Chris from The Ready Room Podcast, Charlynn from the Delta Quadrant cast, and Alan from The Gate cast, to discuss the Captains from Kirk to Janeway. 

The Music of Star Trek. This week a bit of an indulgence as we talk about Star Trek and its use of music, which is something that is essentially background but very important. 

TOS Favourites. This week I am joined by Max and Mike from commentary Track Stars as we talk about The Original series. We each had to choose two episodes from each series and I can tell you that was difficult, but it was great fun doing the cast.

Five Year Mission. This week I am joined by the one and only Five Year Mission, a band who are making a song for every episode of TOS.

The Iconians. This week as I am flying solo I decided to share a transcript I have collated about the Iconian Empire. 

Q. This week I am joined by Brian from the Lou Trek Show, Joe, and Alan, a Canadian listener, to discuss the Q with the usual mix of Star Trek news. Plus some Star Trek Online news and the odd tangent or three.

Star Trek Online. This week we look at the long-awaited launch of STO’s free-to-play model. 

The 1701s. This week I am joined by three Americans—two who never learned from last time and came back for more—as we talk about the incarnations of the famous U.S.S. Enterprise, a ship that above all others is instantly well known. We also have news about conventions and some notes about this week in Trek history.
