Trek News And Views: A Star Trek Podcast

Voyager Seasons 1 and 2. This week we’re joined by Trek.fm Managing Editor Charlynn Schmiedt, Mike from Commentary Track Stars, and Sina to discuss favourite episodes from the first two seasons of Star Trek: Voyager. 

Time Travel. This week Colin is joined by our own Drew Stewart, Miles McLoughlin of SciFi Diner, and Mike & Max of Commentary Track Stars to discuss time travel in Star Trek. 

Inaugural Tom Paris Day. This week Colin is washed away by a flood of estrogen. Literally. Colin hands over the show to Trek.fm Voyager Editor Charlynn Schmiedt, who is joined by Anna, Kate, and Lorrie for a global Robert Duncan McNeill lovefest. It’s the inaugural Tom Paris Day, so prepare to explore Voyager’s badboy helmsman and the man behind the character.

Restoration and Podathon. This week Colin sits down with Huston Huddleston who is part of the Star Trek Enterprise-D Bridge Restoration Team to talk about their project to completely restore the 1701-D bridge set, which Paramount created for display after the filming set was destroyed when making Generations. Then Colin talks with TrekMate’s Wayne Emery about the upcoming 24-hour Star Trek podathon to raise money for Amnesty International and the Watford General Hospital Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU). 

U.S.S. Sisyphus. This week Colin sits down with the crew of the U.S.S. Sisyphus, otherwise known as Improvised Star Trek. 

Civilization. This week we’re joined by Lou Costanzo and Brian Baker of The Lou Trek Show to discuss the Enterprise episode “Civilization.” In news we cover the return of William Shatner as the Priceline Negotiator, Benedict Cumberbatch’s thoughts on jumping into the Star Trek sequel with almost no prep time, a Star Trek fans endeavour to restore the Enterprise 1701-D bridge, and some officially licensed Star Trek tea. Breaking the Ice. This week we’re joined by Charlynn Schmiedt of The Delta Quadrant, Havraha of Podcast UGC, and Sina Alvarado of Ten Forward for an in-depth discussion of the Enterprise episode “Breaking the Ice.” 

Captain Archer. This week we’re joined by Thomas Baddeley of Deck Eight and Paul Finch of Previously In the Alpha Quadrant for an in-depth discussion of Captain Jonathan Archer. This week we take a look at some recent news stories including the Star Trek KRE-O toys and KREON figures being unveiled by Hasbro at San Diego Comic-Con, the smart phone app voiced by Garret Wang for Vulcan Tourism in Canada, the grand slam returning to Star Trek Las Vegas next year, and Karl Urban letting slip the (possible) identity of the bad guy in the next film. Then Colin brings us a commentary track for the Enterprise episode “The Xindi.”
