Episode #289: No Plan B
02/11/2018 Duration: 03minI just had the honour of interviewing the one and only Mick Wall, who is to music journalism what Keith Richards is to guitar. He has worked with everyone from Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath to Guns n Roses and Bon Jovi. During our conversation, I enquired about his own success as well as the success of the bands that he covered. What drove them to greatness? What drove Black Sabbath’s guitar player, Tony Iommi, to create his own fingertips after slicing them off under a sheet metal press in a factory in the early 70s? What drove Def Leppard drummer, Rick Allen, to learn to play the drums all over again - with his feet, after losing an arm in a car accident? Where does Wall, today 60, still derive the energy and enthusiasm to keep going after four decades in the business? --- Listen on Apple Podcasts @ goo.gl/sMnEa0 Also available on: Spotify, Google Podcasts, TuneIn, Stitcher and Soundcloud Twitter: www.twitter.com/steveglaveski Instagram: www.instagram.com/@thesteveglaveski

Episode #287: Yes And, not No But
26/10/2018 Duration: 13minWhen evaluating someone's idea, it's always tempting and easy to point out the myriad reasons why it won't work, instead of to add value and encourage. It's how we're wired. But humanity depends on our encouraging wild ideas, not shooting them down. Otherwise, we'd still be in the stone age. --- Listen on Apple Podcasts @ goo.gl/sMnEa0 Also available on: Spotify, Google Play, Stitcher and Soundcloud Twitter: www.twitter.com/steveglaveski Instagram: www.instagram.com/@thesteveglaveski Future Squared: www.futuresquared.xyz Steve Glaveski: www.steveglaveski.com Medium: www.medium.com/@steveglaveski Terminator clips sourced from www.terminatorfiles.com and remain the intellectual property of Tristar Pictures. Episode #286: Philosophy and the Blockchain with Moresh Kokane
19/10/2018 Duration: 01h28minMoresh Kokane is the founder of real estate crowdfunding company Estate Baron and co-founder of next-generation distributed share registry, Konkrete. We explore the book that changed Moresh’s life, Atlas Shrugged, as well as its philosophy of objectivism. I challenge Moresh on whether or not people are really in control of their choices and we dive into why a healthy relationship with adversity is one of the key determinants behind anybody’s success. The next 30 minutes we explore blockchain, the decentralisation of money and Moresh’s startup Konkrete, which - full disclosure - Collective Campus is a JV investor in, but what we explore is an innovative, fully compliant fundraising method that Konkrete is leveraging and something that bl

Episode #284: Delight People with the Unexpected
11/10/2018 Duration: 12minHumans beings are an interesting bunch. What we yearn for one day, we take for granted the next. Over the past one hundred years, we’ve learned to take electricity, running water, healthcare and the fact that we have an abundance of food that comes from all corners of the globe for granted. We have a tendency to normalise any positive experience after repeat exposure to it, eventually nullifying it. We find ourselves bored with what once filled us with joy and seek out longer, more intense experiences, forever ‘chasing the dragon’ and that high of the first time. In this post, I explore how we can deliver memorable experiences, as a leader, an entrepreneur and as a lover. --- Listen on Apple Podcasts @ goo.gl/sMnEa0 Also available on: Spotify, Google Play, Stitcher and Soundcloud Twitter: www.twitter.com/steveglaveski Instagram: www.instagram.com/@thesteveglaveski Future Squared: www.futuresquared.xyz Steve Glaveski: www.steveglaveski.com Medium: www.medium
