She has an idyllic background but really started to notice “whole foods as medicine” when sharing her home with a friend who had Celiac. Dr. Penner noticed significant changes in her own body by adopting the gluten-free lifestyle. From there, she focused on sugar and systemic inflammation. And as we say here, sugar is sugar is sugar. And Dr. Penner agrees wholeheartedly. Dr. Penner then adopted the Dr. Melvin Page detox plan, which is one of the evolutionary predecessors to the Paleo Diet. However, she was still noticing that some clients just didn’t respond well. Or they did for a period of time and then hit a plateau. I have known Dr. Asad for several years and have always been impressed with his knowledge of the human body. Above all, though, he takes the time with every patient to explain everything that is going on.  I have been to several chiropractors in the past few years. It seems to be the norm that you go in, the chiropractor adjusts you, and less than 10 minutes later, you're on your way out. Whether that's typical in the chiropractic realm or not, I've never really appreciated the high throughput. I've always wanted . . . in fact, needed to know what's going on. It's just my inquisitive nature. This is why I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Asad. He really takes that time to make sure you understand why he is doing what he's doing.
