24-year-old Arpana Jinaga had come to the United States from India to pursue her dreams. She had a great job as a software engineer and was going to school to get her graduate degree. She was driven and volunteered her time at numerous organizations. On Halloween night in 2008, Arpana's apartment complex had a party where residents went from unit to unit celebrating throughout the night. Sometime early the next morning, Arpana was brutally murdered and sexually assaulted in her apartment. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the circumstances surrounding Arpana Jinaga's death. The crime scene was bizarre. Her killer or killers had attempted to wipe away traces of DNA with different types of chemicals. From December 1884 to December 1885, an unknown killer terrorized the town of Austin, Texas. This person murdered 8 people and injured many more. The killer started out targeting African-American women who worked as servants in affluent Austin homes. For this reason, you will often see this case referred to as The Servant Girl Annihilator case, a term penned by an author back in the 1880s. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the Austin Ax Murders. The crimes committed by this perpetrator were horrific. Many of these women were dragged out of the home in the middle of the night and murdered with an ax. The killer left behind a signature or calling card in many of the murders. But questions abound in this case that may lead to clues about the killer. Why did the killers select the victims he did? Was it because he had some type of intimate knowledge of the homes that these servants lived/worked in? This case is also intriguing for the fact that many people have tried to tie this case in with Jack The Ripper. C

In 2010, 19-year-old Nikki Lyn Forrest was four months pregnant when she disappeared from Troy, Ohio. Nikki had told some friends and family that she was thinking about picking up and moving. But, Nikki didn't pick up her paycheck at work and her purse was found by a couple out walking. These were things police felt no one would have willingly left behind. In 2011, Katelyn Markham, of Fairfield, Ohio, never showed up for her shift at the bridal shop where she worked. She had many exciting things happening in her life at the time; she was getting ready to graduate from art school and was set to marry her fiancee. Over a six week period, a large number of patients experienced respiratory attacks, some that proved to be fatal. The FBI was called in and pinned the murders on two ICU nurses who had recently immigrated from the Philippines. The second case is the murder of James Adamski, who went missing in the early hours of Halloween in 1982. James was an 18-year-old senior who attended a Halloween party at a bar and never made it home. His body was later found in a remote field by some hunters. In 2009, 17-year-old Brittanee Drexel disappeared while on a spring break trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. A hotel security camera caught Brittanee leaving the hotel and this is the last time that she was seen. The two men walked in on a robbery in progress and were executed by the burglars. In 1970, a 23-year-old nurse named Carol Ann Fitzmaurice was murdered inside the farmhouse she shared with her husband. Investigators made arrests early on in the case but couldn't get a murder conviction. Then, many years later, police arrested the same individuals. In this episode, we are diving into three unsolved murder in Iowa. 25-year-old mother Jackie Douthart went missing on May 23, 2011, after a night out with friends. Her body was found almost a year later. Police had serious questions about one of Jackie's friends, a man who supposedly dropped her off after their night out partying. But, police would never get the chance to ask all of their questions about this suspect because he took his own life. Then, in 2012, two cousins, Lyric Cook-Morrissey and Elizabeth Collins were riding their bikes near Meyers Lake when they went missing. Townspeople came forward to report a suspicious white SUV driving around town and near the lake. The authorities found the bikes of both girls very quickly on a trail near the lake. But, it was 5 months before their bodies were discovered in a wildlife park about 25 miles from their home. In 1990, 40-year-old wife and mother of two, Marlene Warren, was shot as she opened her front door. The person who shot her was dressed up as a clown, holding a bouquet of flowers and some balloons in one hand, and a pistol in the other. Early on in the investigation, police heard rumors that Marlene's husband Mike was having an affair with a woman named Sheila Keen who worked at the used car business that Mike and Marlene owned. Witnesses said that Sheila looked like the woman who bought the flowers, balloons and purchased a clown outfit. But, the police couldn't put enough together to charge anyone and the case went cold. But, as is happening more and more in these cold cases, DNA would catch up with Sheila in 2017. In 1988, Michelle Norris was a 7-year-old girl growing up in Central Falls Rhode Island. Her father was an abusive alcoholic and her mother was suffering from various illnesses. Life for Michelle and her siblings was extremely tough. On May 28th, 1988, Michelle disappeared from a school playground located across from her grandparent's house. In 1935, a man calling himself Roland T. Owen checked into the Hotel President in Kansas City, Missouri. After a strange series of events took place in the hotel he was found in his room in a pool of blood. Doctors were unable to save this man and he died. In 1968, all six members of the Robison family were murdered at their lake home in Northern Michigan. The Robisons were an affluent family from the Detroit area. The father, Richard, was a successful businessman. Joseph Scolaro, one of Richard's high-level executives, would become the prime suspect in the murders.
