Historian Guest of Honor for CopperCon Revolution:          Trina Robbins An Award-winning herstorian and writer, Trina Robbins has been writing graphic novels, comics and books for over thirty years, ever since she produced the first all-woman comic book, It Ain’t Me, Babe, in 1970. Creator of Wimmen’s Comix. Her subjects have ranged from Wonder Woman and the Powerpuff Girls to her own teenage superheroine, GoGirl!, and from women cartoonists and superheroines to women who kill. Ethan Scott is a new friend and awesome Arizona artist. He also happens to be the artist behind The Ragged Man game book artwork for our other friend, Todd VanHooser. If you have seen The Ragged Man books you will see that Ethan has dark artistic matter on the brain. He also draws Bitstrips, where he has a Wicked Humor. We talked to Ethan at Phoenix ComiCon to get to know him better.

Aprilynne Pike is an internationally best-selling American author best known for her debut novel Wings, which was released on May 5, 2009. Discouraged that, after years of work, she had yet to achieve publication, one November morning in 2007 Aprilynne convinced herself that she was pursuing a foolish dream. Neither she nor her husband were sure how they could afford to pay for his final year of law school and keep their children fed. So Aprilynne resolved to teach childbirth classes again, this time for a fee, and actively seek doula clients in order to make ends meet. This would leave very little time for writing, but she decided it had become an unrealistic and impractical pursuit and the time had come to let it go. That same day, indeed that same hour, as Aprilynne was sorting through her doula kit and childbirth education literature, the phone rang. It was Jodi; Aprilynne's Young Adult manuscript had interest.  

We talked to James A. Owen at Phoenix ComiCon last weekend. James is the founder and executive director of Coppervale International, an art and design studio that also published the periodicals International Studio and Argosy, develops television and film projects, and is redesigning an entire town in Arizona, among other ventures. James has written and illustrated two dozen StarChild comics, the award-winning MythWorld series of novels (published in Germany and France),  the bestselling series, The Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica, the inspirational nonfiction book Drawing out the Dragons, and more.  More than a million copies of his publications are in print, and are sold all over the world. We talked LIVE from Phoenix ComiCon with legendary fantasy author, Terry Brooks, about his career and his love for writing. We talked about his writing advice based on his career in "Sometimes the Magic Works: Lessons from a Writing Life,"  first published in 2003, and we talked about writing "The Phantom Menace" for George Lucas and Star Wars. There was also a surprise visit from Peter David during the interview and we got the converstation on this recording. This prompted some questions/answers on Terry's health and the love and support from his wife. Terry Brooks is a great example of a writer who had several successful careers in his life, and has been able to choose the one he loved most; writing.

Author of the pirate fiction book, "Blackstrap's Ecstasy: A Corsair Captain's Log" and the fantasy book, "Trolls" sat down with us for a brief moment at Phoenix ComiCon between her panels, signings, and her video/audio BookCast shows, to talk about all she has been up to all year. We talked about her new book, Trolls, and the short story she has in the Twisted Nightmares anthology book.  

We will be talking to several organizers of segments of the convention itself; those volunteers who work their butts off to make this next weekend special for us all. We will be talking about what to expect this weekend. We have seen the schedule and can go over each day and how to get what you want to see.

We will be LIVE from LepreCon where we will be speaking with some new faces to our convention; JoAnna Senger, Gary B. Phillips, David B. Riley, Zachary Jernigan. Discussions will be covering the convention, their special works, and how they found their passions for writing and where they see the industry going in the future.    

We will be discussing convention going in Arizona and around the U.S. We will also have some of LepreCon 39's participants sharing their take on the upcoming convention and what they hope to accomplish by being an active member of this 39 year old local Science-fiction/Fantasy Conention.

Raymond Swanland is a freelance illustrator who began his career working on the Oddworld Inhabitants series of video games and has created artwork for Magic: The Gathering, World of Warcraft, Aliens vs. Predator, ImagineFX, Disturbed, many sci-fi/fantasy novels, and more. He won a Spectrum award in 2004 and the David Gemmel Legend Award in 2012. His recent work includes a series of covers for Games Worshop's Warhammer 40,000 and the marketing artwork for the DC Comics animated movie, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. And Raymond Swanland will be the Artist Guest of Honor, his first, at LepreCon 39, May 9-12th. Raymond is also up for this year's Spectrum Award again.
