Combining psychological lyrics with high energized alternative rock to the likes of Chris Cornell, Pearl Jam, and Stone Temple Pilots, Derek Jordan’s mission is to dissect the thoughts and habits of everyday life. He tells it how it is and expresses how it should be. Derek doesn’t believe in under-living yourself. He doesn’t believe in others making decisions for you. And he certainty doesn’t believe in conformity. What he does believe in is choosing your own path in life, pursuing your own passions, and forming your own opinions regardless of what you’ve been “taught”. There are no “rules” you have to follow in life. Certainty, security, and social customs are all made up. They don’t exist. They’ve been embedded in your minds through fear and avoidance of pain, resulting in the distortion of pleasure, adventure, and freedom that life is meant to be. It is a comm

  • Holly Stephey talkes to Rod Fritz of Red Planet!

    26/01/2011 Duration: 01h11min

Rod Fritz is half way through his 3rd album. With four more songs to record and a final mix and master to be performed on all songs the project will finally be complete. Generally he write songs that affect him. Songs such as “Nothing good happens anymore”, “Green Grass” and “Superman Song” were written because of what I see happening around me especially the content of today’s media. I find it disturbing and have a feeling of unease when so much negative information is portrayed in such a vast manner. I am in fact a genuinely happy person who needs to moderate how much negativity I am willing to be subjected too. I also write from personal experience especially when it pertains to matters of the heart. My songs are generally simple three cord progressions and my melodies are generally achieved by repeating those chords until something pops into my head. I also find that I am prolific in my song writing and will in fact write 10 songs for every one I decide to keep. Unfortunately those that do get discarded

  • Holly Stephey & Tab The Band on Tour!

    14/01/2011 Duration: 53min

A rock & roll band with an enduring fondness for pure pop and a wicked, sly sense of humor, TAB the Band defy easy categorization. They may love the Beatles and Cheap Trick as much as T-Rex and the Rolling Stones, but TAB aren’t classic rockers; they’re a vibrant, contemporary band that blends the vigor of punk, the might of arena rock and the melodicism of power-pop, earning the admiration of Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse and J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr, alt-rock stalwarts who requested TAB The Band as their opening act. TAB The Band’s full range can be heard on Zoo Noises (released Jan. 26, 2010), a freewheeling, all-encompassing carnival ride, fueled by such intoxicating singles as the percussive “She Said No (I Love You)” and the breakneck hooks of “Bought and Sold.” TAB The Band may be the best example of how great things can come from no expectations. Brothers Adrian and Tony Perry, sons of Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, began the group almost as a lark. “I grew up in LA,” explains Adrian, “and whenever I came t
