North Dakota State advanced to the quarterfinals for a seventh straight year, defeating San Diego 45-7. Easton Stick was terrific, throwing for 208 yards and three touchdown passes, while also running for 99 yards. The Bison defense got a pick six from MJ Stumpf, his second of the year and NDSU never looked back after that. NDSU ran for 299 yards as a team, over the last five games, they are averaging 273 yards on the ground. The Bison used three touchdown passes from Easton Stick and a timely defensive stop late in the 4th quarter to beat South Dakota 28-21. NDSU finishes the regular season 10-1, and shares the Valley with SDSU, who beat Northern Iowa to claim the Valley's auto-bid. North Dakota State got it done again with defense on Saturday. The Bison forced two Youngstown State turnovers in the first quarter and never looked back in beating the Penguins, 24-3. The Bison improve to 8-1 on the season and 5-1 in the Valley with two weeks remaining. The big story is that standout junior defensive tackle Nate Tanguay injured his right knee in the first quarter, the extent of his injury is not known. Mike McFeely, Eric Peterson, Jeff Kolpack and I break down the Bison victory and where things stand with two weeks to go.

You can add another heartstopper to the NDSU-UNI rivalry. The Bison defense was terrific in the 4th quarter, picking up two interceptions and a sack as North Dakota State beat Northern Iowa 24-20. The Bison ran for 217 yards and overcame two Easton Stick interceptions in the second half. NDSU improves to 7-1 and 4-1 in the Valley, and moves into a tie for first with South Dakota State losing to Illinois State. The start of a busy week for NDSU began with the announcement that the 2019 season opener will be played at Target Field, the home of the Minnesota Twins. The Bison will return to Minneapolis for the first time since 2011. Jody Norstedt and Jeff Kolpack discuss the game against Butler on August 31, 2019 and the upcoming matchup with Northern Iowa.
