When Beer Research Institute opened in Mesa in 2014, it was the goal of founder/owner Matt Trethewey to create something that he loves on his terms. And he and his team have done that, with much success. Now one of the most popular breweries in the valley, BRI is expanding the operation to Downtown Mesa. The brand new B.R.I. Taproom & Arcade not only has a ton of great arcade and pinball games but these games are special. A carefully curated collection gives you choices that are sure to bring up memories from your past. Names like "Street Fighter 2" and "Rampage" might ring a bell. PLUS all the great BRI beers that you love are on draft and they have tons of cans to go! He's an artist in the truest sense of the word not only on the music side but in actual pieces of art as well. The guy does it all and he's a great dude to top it off. In May 2018, I had the privilege of doing a podcast onsite at the Rhiba Farms Spring Fling Farmraiser Dinner. My first guest was the legendary Chris Bianco and he did not disappoint.  This past Monday, June 13th Bianco was named the 2022 Outstanding Restaurateur by the James Beard Foundation. Music and beer. My perfect match. In fact, Tap That AZ was spawned from a segment of a music podcast I had back in 2016. It only makes sense that it comes full circle and I start to dive back into the music side of things. A yearly event that continues to grow, Flagstaff Blues & Brews on June 10th and 11th is a must-hit. The backdrop for the stage is the stunning view of Mt.  Elden. The music coming from the stage is from popular national bands and some local gems. The beer flowing is some of the best in Arizona highlighted by Tower Station and Church Music. Join in as I sit down with Jennifer Grogan, owner of Peak Events, the awesome folks behind this great festival!
