  • FAH #5: How is Your Identity Guiding Your Family?

    29/04/2022 Duration: 17min

All of us long for significance. Where we find our significance plays a role in how truly present we are with our loved ones. We don't show up well at home when we confuse our identity with things like work, accomplishments, who we hang out with, or what others have said about us. In this episode, Josh and Christi discuss Chapter 5 in their new book, Famous at Home. They talk about the power in knowing who you are, who your family is, and having a supernatural perspective. The question we're left with is: How is your identity guiding your family? Show Notes:Preorder the Famous at Home book!

  • FAH #4: What Are You Hiding From?

    25/04/2022 Duration: 14min

There's a powerful verse in Habakkuk that Christi had postered on her bedroom wall as a little girl. The verse itself, Habakkuk 2:1, talks about standing at a watchpost and positioning oneself on top of the tower to see what God has to say. This imagery is a reflection also of how we believe God calls us to stand at the watchpost of our family, our marriage, and our children, hearing what God has to say, watching for the enemies that seek to steal, kill, and destroy even the slightest bit of joy in our families. Unfortunately, all too often, when we see an enemy warring against us, already tired and exhausted from the daily grind of life, we take cover and hide.In this episode, we discuss chapter 4 of our new book, Famous at Home. We talk about the importance of paying attention from our watchposts, and the question we're left with after the episode is, "What are you hiding from?"Show Notes:Preorder the Famous at Home book!

  • FAH #3: What Do Your Biggest Fans Really See?

    21/04/2022 Duration: 15min

Your biggest fans live under your roof. They follow your every move and their eyes are always on you. But they're also always for you. In this episode, we explore chapter 3 of our new book, Famous at Home, in a little more depth. The question we're left with after this episode is, "What do your biggest fans really see?"Show Notes:Preorder the Famous at Home book!

  • FAH #2: What are You Chasing?

    18/04/2022 Duration: 15min

We all have a chase. When we don't allow ourselves to go back and heal parts of our story, we run the risk of misunderstanding the meaning of our current reality. When this happens, it's too easy to be enticed by external affirmation that pulls us away from home.As we continue our book club series in honor of Famous at Home coming out May 3, this episode leaves us challenged with a nagging question everyone of us needs to answer "What Are You Chasing?"Show Notes:Preorder the Famous at Home book!

  • FAH #1: Who is Famous to You?

    15/04/2022 Duration: 24min

We all long to know and be known by our biggest fans. Yet, so often, our time, attention, and identity is being pulled away from those we love most. When this happens, we feel the tension, giving what we can yet feeling like it's not enough. At Famous at Home, we believe you really can show up for your biggest fans without giving what's leftover. 8 weeks, 2 episodes a week. Josh and Christi will walk you through their new book Famous at Home: 7 Decisions to Put Your Family Center Stage in a World Competing for Your Time, Attention, and Identity. • 245. The Story Behind Famous at Home

    07/04/2022 Duration: 50min

For all of the episodes through the years, there hasn't been much of a "Hey, here's who we are, how we met, and where all of this got started" type of episode. So we decided to sit down and record it, transparent and unedited. In light of our new book Famous at Home: 7 Decisions to Put Your Family Center Stage in a World Competing for Your Time, Attention, and Identity coming out May 3, this episode becomes our "Hi, we're Josh and Christi episode" to give you the heart behind where Famous at Home began! • 243. Dealing with Disappointment as a Family

    25/03/2022 Duration: 29min

As a family, we recently experienced a situation that left us feeling surprised and let down. Walking away from it, we had the choice to either sit in our disappointment, or pay attention to what God was saying. How has your family experienced disappointment? How did that play out in your marriage? With your kids? Do you find yourself playing the victim or looking for the gold in what God could be teaching you? In this episode, we talk about how to walk in authority and stay the course as a family, in the midst of disappointment. Show Notes:Preorder Famous at Home: 7 Decisions to Put Your Family Center Stage in a World Competing for Your Time, Attention, and Identity!

    22/03/2022 Duration: 30min

We have one of those unique humans in our lives who just lives what he says he lives. He said recently, "I don't idealize certain values. If I hold to a value, I just go do something to live out that value." It was a convicting moment for us. What about you? • 234. Abundance > Scarcity in 2022

    05/01/2022 Duration: 36min

One of the biggest lies we tell ourselves is that we don't have enough. We don't have enough time, rest, or money to do everything we need. What would it look like for you to leave behind a mindset of scarcity, and move forward with a mindset of abundance in 2022?In this episode, Josh and Christi talk about the ripple effects each of these mindsets have on our marriage, our kids, our work environments, and with those we get to do life with. The mindset of abundance shifts the atmosphere of your home in the opposite direction of scarcity. Neither of these mindsets are about how much of something we do or do not have, but our attitude toward what we've been given. Josh and Christi talk about:* The power of the tongue and how our words dictate what we believe.* The importance of embracing simplicity over complexity.* Creating daily rhythms and how to prioritize working from rest and not for it.* The power in knowing what you really want. * Why embracing silence is crucial for living in abundance.
