Sweet Christmas! It's time for the internet to lose its shit again. And it did! With the release of Marvel and Netflix's 3rd series Luke Cage; Netflix went down! It's back up and you can enjoy the rich chocolatey goodness of the Luke Cage series. If you are looking for a good role model for young African youths Luke Cage is your guy! And it seems he was written specifically for that reason but not in a bad way. Luke isn't overly preachy and while some socio political themes come up but they are not tossed at you more just tossed out for you to pick up if you feel like it. It's SpoilerCast time! Season 1 of Supergirl is now available on Netflix and it is worth watching. It's got all the issues of a new superhero series but it has promise and has a new chance by being placed on the CW with other DC hero shows like Arrow and The Flash. Supergirl tries and fails on occasion while also succeeding in a few other areas. The fight choreography is terrible, the characters are iffy and the story is ok. 1984 is now in the future and in Japan, it's the Psycho Pass movie! I can't praise Psycho Pass enough being an anime Orwellian Nightmare with a great story and interesting characters. Seriously go check it out as soon as possible, all of the series. With the Sybil system being contracted for use outside of Japan and the arrival of an old colleague in the war torn country the Sybil system is being tested in it's up to veteran investigator Akane Tsunemori to investigate the countries leader and the rebels fighting for control of the country. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water a terrible shark movie surfaces and kills your joy. Shark Night formerly 3D now rendered helplessly impotent, more so than originally, is a terrible little shark movie with almost the attempt at a justification of increasing violent trends in media. Shark Night is a pitiful attempt at lake Jaws. The cast is lackluster and under developed, the effects are depressingly bad and the story is boring and preachy all at the same time! In a very special Fathom Events screening I was able to see Batman: The Killing Joke before it was released on DVD. With a small controversy about the Batgirl segment of the movie it was gearing up to be an interesting movie.
