My favorite Nathan Tomasello moment was when a reporter asked him after taking 3rd for the third time in a row how he wanted to be remembered and he said, I want people to remember I was a warrior. 4x Big Ten champion, 4x All American, National champion as a freshmen and three 3rds. It takes a certain mental toughness to come back for 3rd three times in a row when winning it all was always a strong possibility. Teammates with Kyle Snyder and coached by the Tom Ryan. One of the all time Ohio State greats took the time to time to talk to me in between training for World team trials. National Team member and NCAA champion Nathan Tomasello.

Bill Kinison is the older brother of legendary comedian Sam Kinison. He is also an actor, author, preacher, and Sam's former manager. We had a long conversation about the day Sam died, where the scream came from and Sam's career. We also talked about the pain of losing a brother as I recently lost one of mine. This was the first guest to make me cry and feel better at the same time. When i was 11 Sam Kinison planted the seed for what would become my life and career and talking to someone who knew him so intimately was pretty freaking cool. Bo Maynes went undefeated in Kansas from age 6-18. winning 15 straight state titles. In HS he went 130-0 without giving up one take down. His closest match was 6-0 over another 4 timer from a different class. He also won Jr. Nationals and accepted a scholarship to Oklahoma where he was a Big 12 champion. We talked about his college career and him being the winningest, and in my opinion best wrestler in Kansas history. Super humble, great family man, total stud. The Friederichs name is famous in wrestling rich Minnesota. His uncle Denny is in the Hall of Fame and his brother Ty won 4 state titles but he didn't score on his older brother TJ until his senior year. TJ Friedrichs was a Minnesota Prodigy. Making it to HS state as a seventh grader, unheard of at the time, and placing 2nd as an 8th grader, losing by a point. He placed twice more and beat some of the best in the nation in Freestyle and Greco before the ultra tough, super talented young mans college career was cut short due to injury and the beginning of alcoholism. In this interview T.J talks candidly about his struggles and how it ultimately led to his faith, his coaching career and why he wouldn't change a thing. Wrestlers are a different breed and sometimes God allows us to go through things so we can better teach others. I loved this interview. Allen Hankins is a Kansas wrestling legend. Making the state finals every single year from the time he was 8 all the way through HS, winning all but 2. In High School he wrestled for the Kansas coaching legend Wayne Jackson, where he was a 4x state finalist, 3x Champ. He also wrestled for Nebraska for 4 years and won a D2 National title for Augustana. I always knew who Allen was and it was great to finally have a conversation with him. The first time I saw Matt Infranca wrestle was against a kid from KS who rarely lost. Infranca destroyed him and ill never forget it. I've been intrigued ever since. He went on to win 4 High School state titles in Missouri before accepting a scholarship to Nebraska. He is now a co owner of a company called Battle Gear as well as a coach and father. These podcasts are so cool for me because I get to talk to guys I admired from afar and only knew from the newspapers. I hope you enjoy this podcast as much as I did. Frank Jasper is also known as Shute from the iconic wrestling movie Vision Quest. Really cool to visit with someone who was in my living room countless times growing up as a young wrestler. Great guy, tune in to find out what he says would happen when posed the question, who would win for real?

Wayne Jackson is the winningest coach in Kansas history. 13 state titles. 11 in a row. He's also a super cool ole rassler. He wrestled for K State in the early 70's and hitchhiked to NCAAs. I could have talked to him all day about my favorite sport and hope I get to eventually. If you don't enjoy this podcast their is probably something wrong with you. J.D Bergman is a 3x top 4 All American, NCAA finalist for Ohio State University and a 2x World Team member. Rick Williams is a Missouri legend. 3x HS state champ and a World Bronze medalist before heading to Iowa State and ultimately Lindenwood where he won 2 NAIA national titles while being a "terrible person" (his words) Rick Williams is as talented as they come on a wrestling mat, he's a great guy and has a great story about what led him to Christ. Rick Williams has an unwavering faith and makes me want to be a better Christian.

Tom Ryan is the National champion head coach of Ohio State University. He was a 2x All American under Dan Gable, roomed with Terry Brands and coached legends Logan Stieber and Kyle Snyder. He has an amazing faith, and is a super funny, nice guy with great stories. I enjoyed the heck out of this podcast and I hope you do to. Thanks for the support.

Dennis Hall is the best Greco Wrestler in United States history. 10x National champion, 3x Olympian, Olympic silver, World Champion. This man is a champion in every sense of the word and I cannot say enough nice things about him. He talks candidly about his toughest moments on and off the mat. Was an absolute honor to talk to him and I think we became friends. How cool is that? Dennis Hall is the man.

Joey Gilbert was a 4x Illinois State Champion going 163-1. He continued his career at Michigan where he was a 2x All American. We talk about his matches w Tom Brands and the challenges of cutting weight and wrestling D1. Joey Gilbert is a stud and a great father and person.

I hope my son turns out like Seth Gross, not that he has to be an NCAA champ or an Olympic hopeful, but I hope he's humble, hard working, resilient, accountable and above all loves and appreciates God like Seth Gross does. Dan Gable the legend called Chris Campbell his most talented wrestler. In his first yr of competition he went undefeated in New Jersey as a senior. He made the NCAA finals 3 times, winning twice. He made 6 world and Olympic teams, won a world championship and 1 month shy of his 38th birthday became the oldest Olympic medalist in U.S history. Chris Campbell is a bad dude.
