We are people who bend reality by our imaginations. It is true that our imaginations are powerful. Imaginations have built Disney Worlds. Imaginations have sent astronauts to the moon. Imaginations are working on driverless cars, expeditions to Mars, and coast-to-coast travel in less than an hour. However, your imagination cannot bend reality to suit your outlook. The problem is most people believe their conscience is God’s informant in their life. This is only partially true. Your conscience is only as good as the information you feed your conscience. Here is the most important question for your Christian life: Is it possible you believe you are a faithful follower of Christ, but in reality, you’re not? For you to truly have pleasure, you need to run to the original source of that pleasure. God has richly given us all things to enjoy, but remember who gave you those things to begin with—God. God has given you those things, but our lusts lie to us and tell us to pursue those things instead of the Giver of those things.
