You’ve heard freedom is not free, and like social freedom, spiritual freedom required a sacrifice. God guarantees life if we die and glory if we suffer. You arrive at the promise only by way of the conforming path. It requires the brave surrender of your present tangibles for the future hope. You do not live for the present. You use the present as a good steward to secure a favorable future. The toil will only be over when we cross the barrier of time. In the eternal presence of God, we will know it was worth it all.
