One of the most eclectic releases of the year has finally hit the shelves, Fischer's Flicker's debut CD “Katmandon't” - an unusual assortment of weirdness and musicality that sets the album (and group) in a class by itself. Formed by musician Scott Fischer, whose brain is like a vast musical amusement park, Fischer's Flicker is his latest artistic brainchild, and marks the next step in a musical evolution that began over 15 years ago.

This week we will be joined by Andrew Ian Dodge who is running for Senate in the State of Maine. We will be exploring the 2012 election in the light of last weeks presidential debate.

Most people think of inventors being geeky  guys toiling away in the basement late at night. This week the team will be looking at the two conventions. Who wone, who lost? Maybe the bigger question is, does anyone care? Elections are won and lost by a small percentage of 'undicided' voters, did any of them actually watch the conventions?  Even if they did, were they swayed one way or the other? The RNC and DNC both offered moments of drama, or maybe stupidity, depending on your viewpoint.

Reboots, safe modes, on the fly patches, and a high degree of fault tollerance and self preservation are needed. Even the hardware platform must be special, needing to be hardend to survive intense solar radiation and huge temperature swings. Curiosity sports a screaminf fast 200mz RAD processor. That might not sound very fast, but it is 10 times faster than the ones used on Spirit and Opportunity. You can do a lot with just a little, if you plan carefully.
