Heavy Metal Horror Cast

In their latest spooky episode, Em and Sue discuss the superstitions, myths and phobias surrounding thirteen. They also look at 13 inspired heavy metal albums and positive associations connected to the number. Highlighting Amy Holden Jones' The Slumber Party Massacre, Mary Harron's American Psycho, Kathryn Bigelow's Near Dark and The Soska Sister's American Mary, Em and Sue look at horror from the female perspective, along with their own readings of these cult films. Architectural metallers Scientist provide the music for the ep, with their single "The Lighthouse".

Episode 11 sees Em and Sue discuss some of the most influential make-up artists in horror cinema history. Looking at the work of Jack Pierce, Stan Winston, Rick Baker, Tom Savini, Nick Dudman and Yoshihiro Nishimura, the sisters highlight the importance of these artists in creating some of the most iconic characters on screen. Black Coast provide the music for this cast, with their single "Crows of the North".

Movies within movies, self aware fictional characters and kicking arse with your chastity belt firmly buckled are the topics of chat in Episode 10* of Heavy Metal Horror Cast. Discussing meta cinema and the concept of 'the final girl', Em and Sue delve into the mechanics of horror cinema with the films The Final Girl (2015) and The Cabin in the Woods (2012).
