Jay and Dre really, really hope that the issues with Blog Talk Radio are resolved as they indicated they are in an email. They try to do a show at their scheduled time without interruption for the first time in several weeks. A wild Week 17 in the NFL calls for a round of awards for the best and worst, then the final round of picks for the regular season takes place. It's even more of a coin flip than usual with all the players getting rest for the playoffs (or getting a jump on their travel plans). Presuming BlogTalk Radio is working properly (always an adventure), Jay and Dre drop off their gifts for the holiday season, namely the best and worst of NFL Week 15. Then they look ahead to an entertaining Christmas weekend of football. Jay and Dre look back on the latest referee controversy, the most infamous offensive offsides ever in Kansas City, and the reaction by everyone afterwards, as well as the best and worst of NFL Week 14. Then they pick the Sunday and Monday games for Week 15 while the last of the Saturday three-way takes place. Will the Chiefs bounce back in one of Bill Belichick's last home games as Head Patriot? Will the Buffalo stampede through a killer sked continue against Dallas? Will the Ravens keep their hold at the top of the AFC in Duval? Emotions ran high in the league last week as apparently the post-turkey/pre-holiday shopping period made some folks lose their minds. December football has arrived, and the boys have (somewhat) recovered from Thanksgiving to preview the upcoming Week 13 in the NFL. They recap the eventful Week 12 including the Turkey Day games before digging into this week's matchups. Jay and Dre recover from Thanksgiving and Black Friday to hand out the hardware for Week 11 and pick the remaining contests for Week 12 in the NFL. Four of the better teams in the league competed already, so the Sunday slate is low on quality with only two games featuring teams both with winning records: the Jaguars and Texans fight for control of the AFC South, and the Bills start the "death murder kill" portion of their sked by going to Philly. Staring quarterbacks all over the league are dropping like flies, the latest coming Thursday night to begin Week 11. The mystery surrounding when Joe Burrow's wrist was first screwed up will play out in the future. But two other QBs return from bad thumbs to lead the Bears and Rams to, um, wherever they can lead them. Jay and Dre give out their awards for the best and worst of NFL Week 10 before picking all the Week 11 games. Can the Browns rally behind a bad backup QB to overcome the Steelers? Can Antonio Pierce keep the Raiders on track in Miami? The second half of the NFL season commences this weekend, featuring a clash of the top two defenses in the league. Jay and Dre recap the best and worst of Week 9 before diving into Week 10, which has a rematch of Browns-Ravens that will hopefully be much more competitive than Round 1. The Europe games have their final contest in Germany as the Colts battle the Patriots, Joe Burrow and the Bengals look to continue their ascent against C.J. Halfway through the long season, the guys reunite on their normal night to talk some football. Dre and Jay recap the happenings of Week 8 and the trades and firings that followed. Then they preview Week 9, which has the Dolphins singing some Wayne Newton and saying "Thank you" in Germany to Kansas City for sending them Tyreek Hill. Jay winds down his weeklong vacay, so Dre rides solo for the Week 7 recap and Week 8 pick show. He'll have Jay's picks and he'll give his thoughts on the Sunday NFL action. Will the Eagles, Dolphins and Chiefs complete division sweeps? Will the blue or green prevail in the Meadowlands Massacre? Jay is getting the family ready for a long vacation, so in advance of meeting Dre in Memphis for a ribs reunion, the boys are having their football party much earlier than normal. In the midst of a wild NFL season, it feels like we're witnessing the end of an era in Massachusetts. Bill Belichick's Patriots keep suffering embarrassing losses with no end in sight. Jay and Dre recap that Saints shutout and the rest of Week 5 before digging into their Week 6 picks. Will the Ravens rebound and take down the Titans in London? An impressive statement was sent by the Bills in their win over the red-hot Dolphins. Was that the best thing to happen in the NFL, or was it something else? Forget a historic output in Miami, forget a major upset in Glendale, AZ, forget anything that happened in Week 3 because a singer came to a game and sat in a booth with a player's mother. Monday Night Football on ABC brought back memories for old heads, good and bad. Seeing Cleveland battle Pittsburgh on the network felt like the world was all right, but the Wide World of Sports slogan "The thrill of victory...the agony of defeat" came through for Nick Chubb in a most agonizing manner. Jay and Dre look back on the events of Week 2 in the league before making their picks for Week 3. Four snaps into his New York Jets career, on 9/11, Aaron Rodgers' Achilles exploded like the twin tow...no, that's low even for us...he got hurt real bad, and the Gang Green Super dreams went up in smoke. And they still won the game. In addition to the normal erratic play from teams that clearly haven't practiced and drilled themselves into cohesion yet, Week 1 of football this year will be marked by the inordinate number of men missing their opener due to hamstring and knee issues. There's Christian Watson, Mark Andrews, D.J. Chark, Jerry Jeudy, Cooper Kupp, Terron Armstead...and the Chiefs would prefer we don't mention Travis Kelce. Jay and Dre get you ready for the first Sunday of NFL 2023, which will see the 49ers out East vs. the Steelers, the Dolphins out West vs. the Chargers, the Cowboys and Giants on Sunday night again, and the start of the Jordan Love Era for the Packers as they battle the Bears. The storylines for the 2023 NFL season are aplenty: Will Patrick Mahomes be able to lead Kansas City back to the Big Game? Will Aaron Rodgers be able to pretend he's a good guy the whole year? Will Sean Payton rescue Russell Wilson in Broncos Country? Will Kyle Shanahan have to call Steve Bono out of retirement to replace his injured QBs? Has there ever been a non-playoff team with more hype than the Detroit Lions? Will Cincinnati ever protect their franchise QB Joe Burrow? And how dangerous do the NFC champion Eagles look? Jay and Dre will answer those and many more as they preview the new season.
