Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us? Why then are we faithless to one another, profaning the covenant of our fathers?

God’s people are called to holiness which means to be distinct, set apart, separate to God. Profane means common, defiled, separated from the sanctuary or from God. It is a big problem when we treat the sacred as common.

You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition! - Jesus

He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

Simeon, was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

Priestly disobedience results in hardship for leaders and followers alike in Malachi chapter 2.

For the lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts. - Malachi 2:7

Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him

“A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is my fear? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name."

“Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God's part? By no means!

Parents place many restrictions on their children out of love. In Malachi God reveals Himself as a loving Father who confronts, corrects, rebukes, and challenges His people when they stray.

The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever.

We become aware of God's grace toward us, and either we feel gratitude or we are ungrateful. The question is; are you aware of the good that has been done for you or how aware are you?

Is it appropriate for us to conclude the Lord’s Prayer with the traditional phrase; “For Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen"?

The primary strategy of Satan is to deceive; he lies to us about what will bring satisfaction and where true happiness is to be found. How then does the Father deliver us?

How are believers to treat the ongoing reality of temptation and sin? Are we meant to just ignore it? Should we pretend sin doesn’t exist, dusting ourselves off after each fall and denying that anything happened? Or are we are meant to drag ourselves through life under the constant weight of guilt and shame?

For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.

Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions, puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind, and not holding fast to the Head...

Standards of social acceptance are shifting quickly away from traditional values, and more so from the biblical world view. On this shifting moral landscape, where are we as Christians to plant our feet?

Understand our sin as debt we discover that God does not sit down with us to work out a payment plan. He offers full and free forgiveness. Those of us who are in Christ have our whole debt cancelled!
