Synopsis

By harmonizing the four Gospels -- Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John -- we will study the life of Christ in chronological order, from the first utterances of the angels heralding His birth, to His crucifixion and resurrection. It is our sincere hope and expectation that as we immerse ourselves in Jesus' life and ministry, we will fall more deeply in love with Him, and become more and more like Him.

    07/10/2018 Duration: 43min

What does it mean to “be holy”? As you are about to hear in this PODCAST, the answer is remarkably simple and practical. So simple and practical that you don’t need a seminary degree to understand this. And yet, were I a betting man, I would be willing to wager that “be holy” means something vastly different than many of us have been led to believe it means. You, my friend, are in for a treat! 30/09/2018 Duration: 49min

Of all of the things that Peter could have told his unsettled refugee readers, why in the world would he challenge them to “be holy”? Oh my friends, as you are about to hear in this PODCAST, the answer is far more profound than we could ever imagine. Seriously. What you are about to hear in this PODCAST is Peter’s most powerful appeal. One born in Peter’s greatest failure. • 1 Peter in HD (Part 11) -- The Prophets Spoke (Boy, did they ever!)

    16/09/2018 Duration: 47min

Peter wrote that the prophets “searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances (of the predicted) sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow.” That time had now come. And as you are about to hear in this PODCAST, it was amazing! Last week, we made the point that the portrait of Jesus painted in the Old Testament, by the Old Testament prophets, was dramatically detailed and stunningly complete. Just reading the Old Testament leaves the reader with nothing left to the imagination as far as Jesus is concerned. Oh sure. The New Testament adds a bit of color here, some contours there. Think of the Old Testament as a black & white photo of Jesus in contrast to a New Testament color image—vivid color at that! The New Testament is not so much new revelation about Jesus—His incarnation, ministry, crucifixion, resurrection—as it is a magnifying glass that allows us to see a bit more detail that was already there on the canvas of Old Testament. So we are n

  • 1 Peter in HD (Part 10) -- A Most-Prophet-able Study (Pun Intended)

    09/09/2018 Duration: 39min

As you are about to hear in this PODCAST, eight times in only three verses—1 Peter 1:10-12—Peter draws our focused-attention to “the Prophets.” Referring, of course, to the Old Testament Prophets. Individuals—many of whom paid for their prophecies literally with their lives. Individuals to whom we owe our heritage as committed followers of Jesus. Individuals who painted a stunningly complete portrait of exactly who Jesus is centuries before a certain baby boy was born in Bethlehem. Individuals worthy of our time and attention. If you have ever wondered how I present the Gospel to a camp filled with some pretty precious High School students, you can hear it for yourself in this bonus PODCAST. • 1 Peter in HD (Part 9) -- A Lamp Shining in a Dark Place

    12/08/2018 Duration: 46min

As you are about to hear in this PODCAST, it is one of the most, if not the-most-blessed, doctrines in all of the Bible. So naturally, theologians have to come along and muddy it all up to the point where today it is MUBAR—Messed Up Beyond All Recognition. I’m talking about the blessed doctrine of—fancy name—imminence. As in the imminent return of Jesus. As in the clear and (as you will hear in mere moments) unambiguous Bible teaching that Jesus could return at any time. As in the glorious truth that nothing needs to happen to precede Jesus’ return. The “blessed hope” for which we do hope, every single day. Please remember that depending upon your web browser and connection speed, it may take up to 60 seconds for this podcast to begin to play. God bless you richly as you listen.

  • 1 Peter in HD (Part 8) -- So Why are We So Surprised?

    05/08/2018 Duration: 46min

Paul wrote to the believers in Rome, “Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mould, but let God re-mould your minds from within, so that you may prove in practice that the plan of God for you is good, meets all his demands and moves towards the goal of true maturity.” Never was the need for Paul’s plea more evident than in what you are about to hear here in this PODCAST. Please remember that depending upon your web browser and connection speed, it may take up to 60 seconds for this podcast to begin to play. God bless you richly as you listen.
