Katherine Ruch is the wife of our Bishop, Stewart Ruch. In this talk, Katherine unfolds the foundational life of the Christian, "Christ in you, the hope of glory." The image of Eden Restored is by our beloved Anita Powers. It is the image we use in our sanctuary of Ordinary Time. This Ordinary Time Fabric Art piece was created using only fabric. The simple image of an ordinary tree, water, and the Life-Giver tells the story of God’s love, goodness, and salvific provision for us. Apart from the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we would not have life. The images of the tree of life and the streams of living water come together in Revelation 22:1-3, as the new creation. The nations of the earth have been fully healed by the second Advent of Christ. This is the restoration of all things!

With lifted hands, blessing his Apostles, Christ ascends as our Great High Priest and King of the universe. He ever lives to make intercession as part of the continuing mission of God, the restoration of all things. He is able to sympathize (Gk. "to suffer with") as the risen, ascended God-Man. He can groan as the Spirit groans over the brokenness of the world. We believe that Chirst groans over the killing of the children of Uvalde, Texas, the innocent victims of Buffalo and the rest of the suffering of the world. He told Saul in Acts 9 that he was persecuting Christ himself. As we pray for the suffering ones of this present, evil age, know that we join with Christ who ever lives to intercede for us and the restoration of all things. This is our God! Deja Que Dios Camine Sobre La Tierra Otra Vez La Misión de San Lucas (The Mission of St. Luke) was started by Fr. Gene Flanery in 2011 to serve the more than 300,000 Latinos residing in Kansas City. The mission has planted the only Spanish-speaking Anglican church between Chicago and Dallas. Their congregation represents four nations (Honduras, Mexico, El Salvador, and the U.S.) and is transitioning into a bilingual church, offering the Eucharist in a multicultural setting. One of their key ministry focuses is teaching English — the most essential need for virtually all immigrants. Volunteers are needed to help as conversation partners; speaking Spanish is not a requirement to help! Additionally, the mission runs a soccer summer camp for underserved children, represents families at immigration courts, and guides families to appropriate social services in the area. Over 200 Latinos receive services from the mission each year.

We explore the power of grace in the challenge to love. The world knows the difference between believers and disciples. Reciprocal, costly love is the mark of discipleship: John 13:34... A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” Peter's robust failure in three denials becomes a paradigm for the Church and her journey of discipleship. The Precious and Life-giving Cross of Christ How precious the gift of the cross, how splendid to contemplate! He is the Founder/Director of Desert Stream Ministries, a multifaceted outreach to the broken.
