"If we don't see sin as a problem, we won't see Jesus as the solution." When we allow our circumstances to become bigger than our God, then our fears will continue to grow. The very essence of sin is deceitfulness, and the one who is most deceived is the one doing the sinning. Saul's death brought new hope for the Israelites. Jesus' death brought new hope for the world.

When Saul was attempting to kill David David and his army hid from him in a cave. Saul entered that cave to relieve himself giving David the opportunity to kill Saul. David saw this as a test from God and did not kill him. We can learn from David that sometime things that appear as blessings can be used as tests. "You may never know that Jesus is all you need until Jesus is all you have."  LIFE LESSONS FROM INSIDE A CAVE: When we fall back on anything more than God, we are developing bad habits - we are cultivating part-time saviors.   Lean into God and watch Him work. Humility brings vulnerability and vulnerability brings healing.  

Goliath was a champion.  David was a nobody.  That's how God gets it done. How to slay giants in your life: - See things as God sees them. - Be who God created you to be. - Find courage from without, not within (the battle belongs to the Lord) - Jesus is the true champion.

"Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart."  This is how God chose David to be His leader, and what a leader he would become.  Israel would never be more prosperous.  Many years later a far greater leader would arise and His Kingdom would surpass that of David's because He had the very heart of God. The person God uses: David had heart. David had character.  David had integrity.  Jesus is a better David.

The story of the Red Sea crossing is a story redemption. After God delivered the Israelites out of Egypt they are put in a place where they seemingly have no way out. But God showing his glory reveals his power once again by parting the Res Sea and delivering them out of the hands of the Egyptians.

The story of Gideon is a story of unlikely odds and the power of God. Gideon, the most unlikely leader was used to concur the Midian army.

Pastor Jason Fritz explores the story of the Passover and the greater context in Hebrew culture. We see the need for a sacrifice for our atonement. We see the need for Jesus to be the ultimate atonement for our sin. Scripture: Exodus 12:1-13

God calls all of us to a unique calling, which most often is not what we want, Moses was no different. God Called Moses to lead Israel out of Egypt and into the Promised Land. Pastor Jason Fritz explains how God empowers us to fulfill his calling on our lives and that often times what God calls us to do is out of our realm of our physical ability so that God's power can be on display for all to see. Thank you for tuning in!  We wrap up our study of Joseph, and find an incredible process of grace and forgiveness that Joseph demonstrates to his brothers, who have wronged him in many ways.  Yet, through Joseph's wisdom and realization that what man has intended as wrong, God has worked on to make right.  Even though Joseph was betrayed by his brothers, those heinous acts turned out to lead him into amazing outcomes.  We learn here that reconciliation is a necessary practice, especially when we realize and trust that through every act, through every seemingly minor event, we have a loving God working underneath the surface to create an amazing story in our lives that transcend any peril or hardship we come across.  We must endure.  And we must forgive those who wrong us, knowing that it's absolutely part of the process of a greater story still yet to happen.

Lounsbrough.  He said, "God is able to fix that which is broken so that what stands repaired is immeasurably greater than that which stood before it needed repair.  Therefore, the most staggering brokenness conceivable is in reality the greatest opportunity imaginable."  Here, in our continuation of our study of Joseph, we notice three key principles:   - What feels like weakening is really strengthening. - Suffering often reveals your idols. - God has a dream for your future to use you in other people's lives. Your influence is intended for the Kingdom. As Christians we should not be using our leadership positions as a way to show off ourselves but to show others how great a God we serve.
