  • Challenges of Bariatric Care

    We were honored to have Kevin Landers from WBNS 10 TV join us for this episode. Our goal with the episode is to dispell some of the preconceived notions that sometimes exist between public safety personnel and the media. Kevin explained what happens behind the scenes when breaking news occurs.  We discussed how he gathers information, plans interviews, and works with the editors in the "news room" to produce news stories that are timely and accurate.  Kevin also explained that the media has a desire to work with public safety officials acting as a resource to get important information to the public.

    We were honored to be invited to Riverside Methodist Hospital to talk with Dr. Janet Bay and Nate Jennings about the current trends in stroke care and stroke recognition.  Dr. Bay explained what causes a stroke and how Ohiohealth treats these patients.   We also discussed the Advanced Stroke Life Support class that Ohiohealth offers to prehospital as well as hospital clinicians.  This class is offered in partnership with The University of Miami and covers patient management, pathophysiology,and current trends in stroke care.     On November 8, 2009 Rob Kopp received a phone call that no parent ever expects. His son, Nick, had been involved in a motorcycle accident and was critically injured. Nick was onboard a MedFlight helicopter enroute to the trauma center at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
