Today, I’m joined by one of the most inspirational women I know throughout the business and finance industry, Barbara Stanny. I have followed her work for many years, and, after reading her book Sacred Success: A Course in Financial Miracles, I was inspired so much by the information and insight she shared that I just had to reach out and ask her to be a guest on the show.

Let’s be honest with ourselves for a moment. Have you ever felt like you were reaching the “burnout point” in your business or career despite the fact that you love your work? Have you noticed your business skyrocket beyond your imagination, becoming highly successful and being invited to amazing events, engagements, or projects, but caught yourself wanting to spend time sipping wine in front of the television instead of doing the tasks you’ve been asked to perform?

Have you ever found yourself going into a meeting with the intention to stay quiet and observe what others are doing, listening to what your colleagues and peers are saying, instead of speaking up and asserting your own opinion? This is common with many women in business.

Today I am joined by Stacy Tuschl, public speaker, business coach, business owner, investor, and a wife and mom. Stacy launched her dance class business in 2002 at the age of 18 from her parents' backyard. Her business grew significantly by her junior year at the University of Wisconsin. Over the next 10 years she expanded her business to two locations and generates a healthy seven-figure income. As her business grew, she launched a second online business as a business coach, mentor and speaker. Today, she mentors other business owners on developing business systems to help them scale and grow their business.

Have you ever felt that nagging ball of nerves in the pit of your stomach when you want to ask your boss for a raise, but you’re too nervous to actually confront him and ask for it? Or perhaps you’ve thought about talking to a loyal client about increasing your rates, but have put it off for months because you’re simply not sure about how things will turn out or are simply too nervous to “go for the ask.”

Last week, I took a vacation to spend time with my amazing husband and two boys. On this vacation, we went to New Mexico to attend my 19-year high school reunion. During my vacation, I have come to learn many valuable lessons about myself – one of which was how much insecurity has impacted my life all through school as well as my early adult life.

It’s always a good idea to identify potential problems before starting out on something, but it’s not so great if you let them deter you from following through with your plans. Over the last month I’ve had several questions on this topic, all variations on the theme of “If I take this action, will this bad thing happen?” Often they’re valid concerns – but should they stop you doing something that your intuition tells you is a good idea? I don’t think so, and that’s why I decided to make this podcast. 

Speaking engagements are a powerful strategy that many women thought leaders use to help build their businesses and position themselves as the ‘go-to’ expert in their fields. Many women thought leaders have the internal compulsion to get up on stage, share their stories, ideas, insights, and message to a larger audience – but are unsure of how to make it happen. They become perfectionists, focusing on perfecting their full-length speeches before they’ve even landed a speaking gig, or they have the desire to speak but aren’t sure about what it takes to step onto that big stage. 

Watching a woman transform and take control of her role as a female leader within her organization and step into her power is an incredible thing to witness. It’s like watching a flower bloom – she changes from a delicate, yet instrumental part of an organization’s nature to an impactful, beautiful blooming flower, ready to excite and impress the world around her.

Today, I want to talk to you about a conversation that came up at a meeting I attended earlier this week with the CEO, partner, and the senior members of a large professional services firm. During this discussion, an interesting topic came up about how women sometimes need to bend – or break – some “corporate” rules, or ideas we perceive as rules, to step into our power and become the successful leaders we know we can be.

On today’s episode, I am joined with one of the world’s leading expert in selling products and managing brand presence online as an Amazon Seller – Robyn Johnson. Robyn is the CEO of Best from the Nest, an Amazon seller who went from being a struggling Youth Minister to becoming a power seller on Amazon. Her company focuses on buying and reselling products on Amazon while coaching and mentoring individuals and brands on how to begin a business selling products on Amazon and helping brands learn how to manage their online presence through the Amazon e-commerce platform.

  Processes – or more specifically, creating processes. If you are anything like me, you have a love: hate relationship with creating systems and processes within your business or organization. What are systems and processes? If you are an entrepreneur or a female leader in your organization, they help to empower your team by setting clear expectations and are a critical aspect of building a successful business.

Today, women are starting businesses faster than ever before! For instance, in the United States, women are starting businesses at a rate five times higher than the national average. In Canada, we are starting new businesses at twice the national average. At these rates, it is undeniable that women-lead businesses are taking industries by storm, but many women are failing to see (or utilize) the benefits of developing recurring revenue streams.

Entrepreneurs – and aspiring entrepreneurs – frequently, and quickly, come to the realization as their businesses begin to grow that balancing their work life and personal life is a difficult challenge. I can relate – I have two boys, I travel every month, I run my own business, plus my husband is an entrepreneur. Life can be pretty chaotic at times, and it can sometimes feel out of balance.
