As the weather warms up and the last week of March approaches, we are mere days away from the 2024 MLB Season Opener. We get his thoughts on Spring Training winding down and the regular season already near. Also talked Walker Jenkins and other prospects so far in Fort Myers!

Crowds gathered along the Gulf Coast in Texas as SpaceX launched its third flight test. We talked to Stephen Clark of ArsTechnica about what is next for SpaceX and his takeaway from the launch. We dive into a variety of other spaceflight topics as well including calculating the launch for SpaceX.   

From going outdoors with Steve Carney , to checking with Jess Myers from The Rink Live we cover the outdoors and the college hockey tournaments in this first hour. Also we talked to Dane Mizutani who covers the Minnesota Vikings for the Pioneer Press about NFL Free Agency, the big trade for the Vikings and looking ahead to the draft future!  

The Minnesota Vikings have been making big moves, the biggest being trading for a first round pick with Houston motioning possibly towards a trade up for a quarterback of the future and we get Dane’s thoughts on that, Justin Jefferson and much more! 

Checked in with Jess Myers, The Rink Live as he updates us on the Gophers men’s hockey team in the Big Ten tournament later against Michigan and updates us on  the women’s hockey side of things as they faced off against Clarkson into an overtime thriller. We also dive into Minnesota-Michigan and NCHC tourney talk as well! 

We chatted with Steve Carney as we went outdoors despite the windy conditions, Steve is still reeling them in. He recaps his trip along the Missouri River, what he is doing in Sioux Falls and he talks about Lake Traverse having a chemical issue within the fish population. 

Twins come from behind late in the eighth inning and win over the Tampa Bay Rays 6-5 in Grapefruit League action. We recap the game, analyze Pablo Lopez early struggles and talk Byron Buxton and how the Twins can elevate his endurance this season.

Another hour of sports coverage on a Saturday - we start with Andy Greder, covers the Minnesota United and Golden Gophers for the Pioneer Press he gives us the latest on Minnesota United FC and previews their matchup. We recap the NHL Trade Deadline and the few moves the Minnesota Wild did make - how it changes the outlook for this team and more. Afterwards, we talked to Dan Hayes of The Athletic on the heels of the Twins defeating the Yankees talking Griffin Jax, Byron Buxton and much more as the season slowly nears! We wrap with a quick PGA update and react to the KAT injury!   

It was quite an offensive performance by Byron Buxton today in Fort Myers where he hit two triples, a home run, and four RBIs. We also talked about Dan’s latest story on Griffin Jax and the resurgence of Byron Buxton, Max Kepler discussion as well! 

With the grass turning green the Minnesota United season is well underway now as they travel to Orlando this weekend. Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press previews their matchup with Orlando and when we can expect new coach Eric Ramsay in Minnesota and we also dive in to some Gopher basketball discussion as well - they are down just outside of Chicago facing Northwestern.

We began the first hour catching up with Steve Carney as he is headed south for the week to drop a line or two along the Missouri River and we check in with him about the weather here in Minnesota as the winter roller coaster continues and water levels change. Then checked in with Jess Myers for The Rink Live as he previews Gophers-Penn State and breaks down some of the scenarios with the NCAA Regional Tournament teams. Also caught up with David La Vaque of the Star Tribune on his new release of 'Tourney Time' and recap of the Class A Championship, Lou Nanne and preview tonight's AA tournament! 

Its ‘Championship Saturday’ in the Minnesota State High School League State Hockey Tournament over at the Xcel Energy Center as we saw the earlier matchup of Hermantown facing off against St. Cloud-Cathedral in the Class A Championship where the Crusaders won their second ever title. David La Vaque covers high school sports, specifically with this annual classic in Minnesota for the Star Tribune. He previews Chanhassen and Edina tonight for the AA title and reflects on Lou Nanne's last call tonight!   

With the weather roller coaster we have been on, we checked in with the outdoors expert himself Steve Carney, he is en route to the Missouri River in the next day or so as he will be off fishing this week. 

We were able to yet again catch Jess Myers while at 'The Rink Live' who is at 3M Arena at Mariucci for the Gophers matchup with Penn State. Also, we cover some NCHC and CCHA scenarios with the tournament, who is in and who is on the cusp of being out. Will we see the Gophers at the Xcel Energy Center for the Frozen Four. 

Bailey Ober got the start against the Yankees today and got through a few innings and gave up a home run early along with three strikeouts but that did not stop the Twins from racking up some runs - they went on to win 10-7 in Ft. Myers. Byron Buxton had quite a day tallying up two triples, a home run and four RBI’s on the day.   

Another hour with Steve Thomson on a Saturday, talking with Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press about PJ Fleck getting bonuses and the Minnesota United’s home opener draw today. Then we chatted more about where the Gophers program is amid the PJ Fleck era. Also, Do Hyoung Park recaps the Twins loss to the Phillies amid Bailey Ober striking out seven and the progress of this team so far in Fort Myers. 

In his commute from Clearwater, we checked in with Do Hyoung Park, who covers the Minnesota Twins for MLB.com. He talked everything from Royce Lewis, to the Giolito-Joe Ryan matchup, to recapping today’s loss to the Phillies.

Had the chance to catch Andy Greder, writes for the Minnesota United FC and Golden Gophers football for the Pioneer Press. Not the opener the Loons were hoping for but it was an exciting finish despite a draw and also we ask Andy about the buzz around PJ Fleck getting a $700,000 boost as Gophers head coach.

It already was a crazy week of section finals in high school action, now we look forward to the Minnesota boys state tournament and the NCAA tournament looming as well with Jess Myers from The Rink Live! Also, we ask him about the state of the struggling Minnesota Wild - is it over?
