(Matthew 28:1-8, Mark 16:1-8, Luke 24:1-11, John 20:1-2) Two disciples, Peter and John, also saw the empty tomb. (Luke 24:12; John 20:3-10) Over the next 40 days, the risen Jesus was seen by many disciples. (Luke 24:13-49; John 20:19-31; John 21:1-25; Matthew 28:16-20) Through the proclamation of the resurrection, the Church grew.
