Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. Leaven is sin and the sin of the Sadducees is Liberalism. It was in Jesus day and it is in ours and how did our Lord describe them. "Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God." Matthew 22:29. Genesis 1-11 Session 19Genesis Ch. 4 Cain & Abel. Discernment is in view in this session on church history of evil committed in the name of God. There are many religions which claim to be Gods authority when in reality many are just counterfiets. These are decievers which have a form of godliness, but deny the things of God. Genesis 1-11 Session 18Genesis Ch. 4 Cain & Abel. Here in this chapter we see the origin of religion and it's conflict. God hates religion! Both Cain & Abel made an offering to God on an appointed day. Two offerings, two attitudes toward sin and how to approach God. Works vs. Grace the age old battle of religion vs. grace. Jesus saved His harshest words for the so called religious gaurdians during His earthly ministry.

Session 17 of Genesis 1-11 we look at Abel in Genesis Ch. 4 and contrast his offering with Cain. God testifies in Hebrews Ch. 11 that Abel was righteous and Cain is listed among the apostates and of the evil one.
