Cats Talk Wednesday

Things get really fun from here on out for several months. The Kentucky Wildcats exhibition tune ups are over. Friday evening they play Stephen F. Austin in a game that counts, the season is here. The Michigan State game is less than a week away. Mark Stoops and the football Cats are still in hot pursuit of a bowl game and their next opportunity comes in Neyland Stadium against the Tennessee Volunteers. It kicks off at noon so we'll see how they bounce back from the loss to the Georgia Bulldogs pretty quickly. At 7:10 we'll be joined by long time radio voice Tony Basilio, Voice of the Common Fan on 1180 WVLZ in Knoxville. We'll preview the Cats vs the Vols with him. It's gonna be lots of fun! The Kentucky Wildcats can almost taste a bowl game now. The final third of the season is upon us. We look back at the win over the Missouri Tigers and ahead to Saturday night versus the Georgia Bulldogs. John Calipari's alma mater Clarion made their second trip to Rupp Arena in the Cal era. We'll talk about that too! Game 7, Cubs, Indians, World Series. Plus we'll also talk about Opening Week in the NBA. Lots of NFL news to get to and we will hit as much as we can. Tonight marks our 100th show! We'll talk a variety of sports topics like we always do. The Kentucky Wildcats defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores to climb back to .500 at 3-3 as they reach the bye week. They will now have a chance to get healthy before the Mississippi State Bulldogs come to Lexington for homecoming. Big Blue Madness is Friday, anticipation builds as the Big Blue Nation will get their first look at this year's squad. Former UK guard Cameron Mills will join us right off the bat to start the show talking about college hoops. Fashion extraordanaire Lindsay Spencer will join us at 7:15 

The Kentucky Wildcats look to hit their bye week at 3-3 with a win over the Vanderbilt Commodores. We'll back track and talk about the game in Tuscaloosa against the Alabama Crimson Tide as well. Coach Cal is talking about locks, we'll see what that's about also. Big Blue Madness is fast approaching and guys are still going nose to nose. The Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers played last Sunday, we'll have thoughts. There were so many things that happened this week! Of course we'll talk about the Kentucky Wildcats win over the South Carolina Gamecocks and we'll look ahead to their trip to Tuscaloosa to face the Alabama Crimson Tide. A lot of iconic names were in the news this week in sports: Vin Scully, Arnold Palmer and Kevin Garnett. Tragically Jose' Fernandez's life ended way too soon. We have two great guests as well. The Kentucky Wildcats got their fist win of the season with their defeat of the New Mexico State Aggies. They look to make it two in a row this weekend and grab their first SEC win of the year as they host the South Carolina Gamecocks. Nate Northington, Greg Page, Wilbur Hackett, and Houston Hogg, the Trailblazers, will have their statue unveiled tomorrow evening at Commonwealth Stadium. Drew Barker's injury status is still a big topic and will continue to be going forward. How will Stephen Johnson play against tougher competition? Rupp Arena is redisigning the court. Can't wait to see that at Big Blue Madness. We have two more awesome guests too. Comedian and UK fan Michael Rudolph will join us at 6:30 to talk UK sports and some comedy. At 7:30 Sydney Hunte, co-;manager of Garnet and Black Attack, will stop by to preview South Carolina with us and share his thoughts on the Gamecocks. Plus we'll talk NFL, MLB and more!

Tonight we dive into Kentucky football once again. Once again it's gonna be rough. The Cats need to get healthy this weekend against New Mexico State in a big way. Mark Stoops has said he will become much more involved on the defensive side of things. Our first guest is an all time UK great. He was the straw that stirred the drink for the #96Champs, former UK point guard Anthony Epps will join us at 6:30. It's gonna be awesome! Our second guest will stop by at 7:00 to talk some Louisville football. Yes really. LJ tha Fiasco, co-host of the 35th and KY show will stop by to talk about Lamar Jackson and the Cards as they get set to host Florida State. 

The summer slow time is in the rear view mirror now! Week one of college football is in the books and the NFL season opener starts tomorrow! We'll talk tons of football tonight including the Kentucky Wildcats come from ahead defeat at the hands of the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. It doesn't get any easier with a trip to The Swamp to face the Florida Gators in the SEC opener. We'll also have to talk about the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers and what we think may happen with our teams. It's finally game week! The Kentucky Wildcats will play host to the Southern Miss Golden Eagles this Saturday night at Commonwealth Stadium. We'll talk about some things the Cats need to do to start the season 1-0. We're excited to be joined by two former UK offensive lineman.
