Episodes

  • Being Vulnerable with Your Customers

    02/08/2018 Duration: 01h27min

The dudes from Drnk Cltr podcast (https://www.drnkcltr.com/podcast/) stop by to hang out with us and chat about small business shenanigans. We get the inside info on how they started their podcast and soon we found ourselves in a very spirited debate about the role of the owner (podcast/brewery/gym) and how important it is to give their stories to their listeners/customers. This was a really fun episode to record and even though we didn't get to most of the silly pop culture talk our listeners have grown to expect from us, I think this is a great conversation with several different opinions for anyone interested in starting a business to listen to. Plus we don't swear as much as usual. You're welcome, mom.

  • Today is the Day You Notice Me

    19/07/2018 Duration: 01h43min

The gang talks about approaching every day with a relentless attitude for success: "Today is the day you notice me." I didn't have time to edit this episode or really remember what we talked about but Brandon assures me it was one of our best episodes ever. I'm sure we stumped Bryan because he's brain doesn't work good. And I'm sure Jason said really smart things because his brain works good.

  • Lebron James and Bad Employees

    12/07/2018 Duration: 01h38min

The gang gives their advise on the best way to get a raise, Cecilia talks about her dancing past, Jason gets his business inspiration from Starcraft 2, Bryan can't stop talking about The Island, Kyle displays his road rage, and Komal talks about how she want's to see Michael Bay's version of A Quiet Place.

  • Britney Spears and Big Promotions

    05/07/2018 Duration: 01h44min

The gang welcomes Scott from the Indianapolis Coffee Guide and discuss the big iconic promotions done by some of the biggest brands on the planet. All Jason knows about Pepsi is the Britney Spears commercial, Scott beefs on electric scooters, Bryan's goes full Time Cop on us and discusses the movie Alien like it just came out, Komal gave a bunch of important business advice while her mic was muted, Mike encourages the audience steal HBO, and last but certainly least Brandon said words. Check out Scott's work here - https://www.indianapoliscoffeeguide.com/ - as well as on Instagram @indianapoliscoffee

  • String Theory and Quantum Physics

    28/06/2018 Duration: 01h26min

The gang pretends they're smart and talks about string theory and quantum physics, imagining the different versions of themselves in alternate universes. Komal beefs on the personal trainer version of herself, Brian can only imagine himself as lazy, Mike tells us about his phobia of touching unfinished lumber, Jason talks about the deep messages inside the Incredibles 2, and Brandon talks about toys. Things got a little crazy during Stump the Brewer at the end so I apologize to my mother for the bad words.

  • Gary Vaynerchuck and Mental Toughness

    25/06/2018 Duration: 01h32min

This week on Nanobrew: The Podcast things get real as the gang talks about times in their life where they were forced to develop mental toughness and how it shaped their future. There are the usual shenanigans sprinkled in, but this is an excellent episode about how the trials in our lives force us to grow up and get tougher.

  • Nick Saban and Frying Pans

    16/06/2018 Duration: 01h27min

This episode was supposed to be about "Broke Marketing Techniques," but the conversation gets quickly derailed and the gang never actually gets back on track. Jason tells a story about Nick Saban, Komal beefs on Home Depot, Bryan avoids Stump the Brewer by continually changing the subject, and Kyle believes that soup shouldn't be considered a meal.

  • Dumping Bad Batches of Beer

    07/06/2018 Duration: 58min

Dustin from the Barrel Chat podcast stops by and we chat about beer and how bad a batch has to be for us to dump it. Spoiler alert, I will personally choke down a lot of bad beer before I toss it down the train. Dustin talks about being an America Ninja Warrior, Jason beefs on Google Docs, Bryan doesn't know what a snowmobile is, the ante ups to $230 for John Green to punch Mike in the face, and we all say goodbye to the COO Molly as she leaves us for more less stressful work environments. We actually didn't say too many cuss words this episode. You're welcome, mom.

  • Franchising Pros and Cons

    01/06/2018 Duration: 42min

The gang sneaks in a quick mini-episode to appease their massive fan base this week since Jason's daughter was sick last week and we couldn't record (shout out Lou). The topic this week is the pros and cons of franchising. Bryan doesn't contribute, Brandon makes his return to the podcast, Mike mumbles (weird), Molly beefs on her co-workers cause she's quitting the company and doesn't give af, and Jason saves the podcast with a lot of really amazing insight into the franchising world.

  • Why Your Boss is Mad at You

    26/05/2018 Duration: 01h34min

The gang has two special guests in the studio this week: Pete Farrar of Water Performance Technology and Dave Sommers of Mad Mushroom Pizza and US Pizza Team fame. Pete talks about yelling at children, Dave tells stories of worldwide pizza competitions, Jason talks to his crew passively aggressively about why he hates them, Mike brings up the time his wife called Jason a pussy, and Molly brings the haterade on employees that can't get their asses to work on time. Bryan got stumped at the end but I cut it because it got rather dirty rather quickly (you're welcome, Mom). However, the word "pussy" is used about 15 times in a few minutes at the end (sorry, Mom).

  • The Ballpark Dress Code

    17/05/2018 Duration: 01h33min

This week the gang chats about The Ballpark Dress Code. Mike mumbles a lot, Bryan incriminates himself, Jason talks about his love for Galaxy Quest, and guest Brent talks about his life on the road as a musician. I tried to cut out some of the cuss words, but I (mostly) gave up. Sorry, mom.

  • The Making of a Great Restaurant

    10/05/2018 Duration: 01h37min

The gang teaches you how to take your restaurant from good to great while going through all the usual shenanigans - Old Business, Art in Your Face, Guilty Pleasure of the Week, Wendy's Beef of the Week, and Stump the Brewer. We welcome frequent guest Sarah Burns back on the podcast on the 2nd half of the show, Jason gives a speed reading lesson, Mike brings everyone up to speed on Handmaid's Tale and continues his beef on John Green, and Molly tells a story of when she shotgunned two cans of beer before a Fleetwood Mac concert.

  • Star Wars and Sizing up the Competition

    03/05/2018 Duration: 01h36min

Jon Couch comes on the podcast to talk about our May the 4th be with you celebration as well as X-Wing and other Star Wars-based games. The Nanotip revolves around identifying the competition for your business, Jason beefs on the word "nerd," the gang puts up $30 to see John Green punch Mike in the face, and Bryan loses Stump the Brewer just like every other week in history.

  • Dropping Science with Hubbard & Cravens

    26/04/2018 Duration: 01h23min

The gang welcomes Andrieu from Hubbard & Cravens and he mesmerizes us about coffee knowledge from roasting science to the origin of the decaffeination process. Jason talks about the most important trait of entrepreneurship, Bryan fills us in on the masterpiece that is Kung Fury, Mike behaves himself surprisingly well, Brandon gets lucky, and Molly and Komal save the bees. I apologize to my mother for all the cuss words and inappropriate jargon. I didn't get to edit this episode so double sorry if there are some really explicit stuff in here.

  • The X-Men and Turning Weakness into Strength

    19/04/2018 Duration: 01h34min

The gang has one of their best shows ever - mainly because I talk a lot. We discuss participation trophies, the x-men, and turning your weaknesses into superpowers. Komal gets muted several times for not following the rules, Mike thinks The New Girl is the greatest show ever made, Jason beefs on people bringing their 7-year olds to R-rated movies, and Molly tells a story about how she makes children cry.

  • Your Diploma is a Participation Trophy

    12/04/2018 Duration: 01h28min

In this episode of Nanobrew, it's a five against one battle royale as Jason compares college diplomas to participation trophies (I have the grade inflation data to back that up, btw). Brandon tells another tall tale about meeting Gordon Ramsay, Jason beefs on Komal walking in traffic without looking both ways, Mike recounts the time someone in Tennessee once tried to sell him children, and Komal tells us that her 90-year old grandpa is a big fan of the podcast. Shout out Komal's grandpa! As always, we're rated earmuffs for explicit language. We say bad words. Sorry, mom.
