In this episode, the gang talks about how a business is the video game hard mode of life, and it gets crazy with Art In Your Face.

The gang reacts as Jason comes in with the hot take that the kids these days saying, "Adulting is hard," is really ridiculous. How dare he? Amiright? Seriously, though, Step Brothers: The Movie is not funny in real life. It's not out of line to expect your employees to grow up - but it's your job to help them.

"First come the innovators then come the imitators then come the idiots." ~something Mark Cuban said once on Shark Tank to the best of my memory. Here's a point that Mark didn't cover - today's innovators can quickly become tomorrow's idiots if they don't continue to innovate. Just because you were at the top of the game for years doesn't mean you can stop pushing the boundaries of your industry. 

The greatest marketing campaign of all-time was accomplished accidentally by a video game called Contra by the original Nintendo Entertainment System. What did they do? How did they do it? How can you apply these tactics to your business or workplace? I guess you have to listen and find out. Plus there's a lot of fart jokes.

"You Want Crazy? I Got Your Crazy." ~Britney Spears, Toxic. What can the gang learn from Britney's immortal, best-selling words? Knowing this group, probably nothing. Here's is the point that is attempted to make: sometimes when people try to pin you into a corner with who they think you are, the easiest thing to do is to own it an dial it up to 11. If they thin you're being mean, show them what being mean really looks like. Problem solved. Winky face.

One of the biggest misnomers in all of sports is that defense wins championships. And it's the same in business. Going on offense (revenue generation) always trumps great defense (limiting expenses). And normally you can't do both at the same time. The gang discusses this topic but the bulk of the episode is nonsense.

Sometimes we like to make high-level requests of our employees here at Books & Brews to see if the staff can rise to the challenge: punch in, do your job, punch out. How do you think that goes? Not good, y'all, not good. You want to open a business? Start realizing that those three simple steps are the exception and not the rule.

On your really on the same page with your staff and/or co-workers? How do you know? The gang pontificates upon misunderstandings in the workplace and how the smallest of miscommunications can fester and lead to huge problems. Then we talk about movies and other dumb stuff. The gang is back after a bit of a delay to let you know that if you want to own a business you need to know the owner's job description - you're going to have to deal with the worst bits of owning a business at all time. Brandon informs the crew on the current status of The Undertaker, Jason's Guilty Pleasure of the Week is Robot Wars, Bryan is just seeing Watchers for the first time, and Komal's mind is blown to find out Rorschach is the same actor as Kelly from the original Bad News Bears. 

The gang comes back with their usual business shenanigans and the conversation quickly divulges into the future cyborg olympics. Jason talks about how Books & Brews uses community building and the empowerment of "champions" to develop niches within niches, Bryan loses Stump the Brewer under league protest, Brandon arts in our face about horror movies, and Komal tells the story of being run over by a car and being mugged at the same time. 

The gang is back with their usual shenanigans, explaining why all being in business means is fighting with people about everything all the time always. Bryan gives his tips for making telemarketers mad, Komal returns from Canada and talks about her glacier water purchase (and Bryan gets jealous), Justin shares his affinity for Caramel Appeletinis, and we talk about Dick Butkus for way too long.

Jason explains why Finding Forrester is the greatest motivational movie of all-time and uses lots of ten dollar words, Bryan defends the stupid invention that is the Spork, Komal's story gets cut for time, and Kyle is present but quietly listens and learns like a horror movie villain that will eventually assume our identities.  Lots of Bryan's parts got edited out because he has a dirty, filthy mouth.
