Brigadier Roly Walker
03/03/2014 Duration: 02minAs the Army’s new structure begins to take shape, the Brigade’s within it prepare for changes too. 12 Mechanized Brigade in Bulford Garrison will soon become an Armoured Infantry Brigade. Its Commander is Brigadier Roly Walker. It’ll mean some units moving on to pastures new. But as regiments move on… although a shrinking brigade, it’ll welcome two new units in 2015. 1st Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment and a brand new unit The Royal Lancers - formed as a result of an amalgamation. But with rebasing plans afoot, how does it affect units from the Brigade based on Salisbury Plain. As Afghanistan draws closer to British Troops withdrawing, Brigadier Walker says it’s still very much busy times ahead, and wants to thank families and his troops for their continued support and hard work.
