The Combined Services Disabled Ski Team
20/05/2014 Duration: 02minThe 2014 Combined Services Disabled Ski Team (CSDST) Newcomers' Event took place at the Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead on Tuesday 13th May. This day long opportunity gives anyone with an interest in the sport a chance to meet coaches, instructors and competitors from across the Forces world to see if joining the CSDST would be for them. One of the special guests in attendance was Paralympian Mick Brennan formerly in Bomb Disposal. Mick lost both his lower legs in a bomb attack whilst serving in Iraq in 2004. The day was also an opportunity to celebrate the success of another strong season, including at the Sochi Paralympic Winter Games and to welcome the new CSDST President, Lt Gen Evans CBE DSO. Hal Stewart was inside the Snow Centre to chat with all involved and to get a very wet pair of socks as he sampled the slopes!

Prince Harry's First Tweet Promotes Invictus Games

Soubry Says Alcohol in Military Bars Should Not Be More Expensive
01/05/2014 Duration: 01minAnna Soubry, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Defence Personnel, Welfare and Veterans, has said that alcohol in military bars should not be more expensive. She faces opposition from Labour MP Madeleine Moon - who says she got the "fright of my life" when she was charged only a pound for a triple gin and tonic while visiting forces in the Falkland Islands two years ago. She's calling for an end to what she calls the "high level of subsidy" enjoyed at military bars.
