When Jesus left earth and went to heaven, his ministry didn't stop- it actually continued and still continues through the body of Christ today. Ephesians 4 tells us that every believer in Jesus has been gifted by Jesus so that Jesus can continue to do his ministry here on earth through us. So rather than one successor, all of us as believers collectively are his successors. (Or more correctly, he never stopped working his ministry, he just does it now thru the Church.) So what does it take to have a mature Church that is thriving with the ministry of Jesus? Well, first it takes Christ-like leaders equipping the rest of the body for the work of the ministry, while the rest of the body participates in getting involved by using their gifts. In a nutshell- it takes PREPARATION and PARTICIPATION.

Ever wonder what makes Jesus so different than any other "religious leader" or "Guru" that's come and gone?
