Lindsey Peetz-Murray is the Director of the Pioneer Scholars Program at Bellarmine University. The program is designed to help incoming freshman, who may be the first person in their family to attend college, make a smooth transition into higher education. Leslie Rowen, from Florence Kentucky, will graduate Bellarmine University as a member of the Class of 2017 with a double major in English and Spanish. Rowen says her plans include returning first to the classroom as a student to pursue a doctorate degree and then returning to the classroom as a professor.

Tara Bowling, from Louisville, Kentucky is a Communications graduate. She is from Louisville and therefore found it easier and more cost effective to commute to campus, rather than live on campus. Bowling says she is pursuing a career in marketing, an outgrowth of an internship she took advantage of in her last year of college.

Dani Bestfelt is a psychology major from Ohio who has found her confidence in understanding the dynamics of the first year of college, especially for first generation college students. She'd like to pursue a profession in Student Affairs.

McKayla Chandler is a communications graduate with a double minor in political science and writing. Chandlerl is taking a gap year before going to law school.

Lakin Pack, a Louisville native, graduates with a double major in Criminal Justice and Communications. In this episode of the Senior Stories series, Lakin Pack talks about making the adjustment to college life and how Bellarmine University helped her grow as an individual.

Joey (Michael) Stoltz came to Bellarmine University initially to play on the soccer team, but after a first season injury his focus shifted. He focused more on his academics and is now prepared to take the entrance exam for medical school in the summer of 2017 with a plan to enroll in medical school in the fall of 2018.

After graduating Bellarmine University, Dara Ricketts (Environmental Studies graduate), who is from Kentucky plans to teach English as a foreign language to students in Asia. Ricketts offers great advice to prospective students who want to know the importance and benefits of getting involved in campus clubs and organizations.

Rusty Troutman is a basketball standout and led the Bellarmine Knights to the Elite Eight (Spring 2017). Rusty entered Bellarmine University as a nursing major but switched to business administration. He offers advice and 'real talk' when it comes to designing a career.

Alison Rodriguez plans to begin her career in education with Jefferson County Public Schools where she has worked closely with the Literacy Project, which is a partnership between JCPS and BU. The project leaders train teachers on how best to teach students to read.

Dakota Schlenk is from Hillview, Kentucky. Dakota graduates with a degree in Business Administration. In this episode of Senior Stories, Dakota offers valuable tips on time management and the importance of getting to know your professors. He also advises propsective students to take the campus tour. For Dakota, the campus tour was a "game changer".

Austin Adam, not Adams, is an Environmental Science major and comes from the small town of Borden, Indiana. Austin directs the Bellarmine Food Recovery Network which collects leftover food from the university food service four times a week to supply two local shelters.

Brigit Bard is President of Better Together, an interfaith organization at Bellarmine University that's designed to inspire and encourage an exchange of ideas and opinions about different faiths and religion. Bard is a sophomore majoring in psychology at Bellarmine.

Dr. Kyle Barnett is Associate Professor of Media Studies at Bellarmine University. He talks about his interview for the job opening at Bellarmine and laughs 'now' about how he pronounced the school's name. He also tells us some of his movie favorites and why he selects certain movies to share with his class.

Dr. Shawn Apostel joined Bellarmine University four years ago, as the point person for directing and developing best practices for technology in the classroom. Dr. Apostel works with professors on how best to use technology in classroom instruction.
