The road trip result is just not good enough when chasing teams in the Wild Card Race. The Panthers fell flat in Nashville, despite getting the most important win in the road trip in Washington. However, the results on the rest of the Saturday games did not make the Panthers lose too much ground. The guys discuss the Strength of Schedule for the teams competing with the Panthers for the Wild Card race and how it favors the Panthers, which in the next week, things will be more clear as the Cats will have multiple off days as the teams will make up their games in hand. Third and final segment, Alex and Armando preview the Panthers-Ducks matinee game where it is seen as a no excuses game on Monday afternoon. After an unlucky bounce that led to the first goal by Brayden Schenn, the Panthers didn't do Spencer Knight any favors with offensive zone turnovers, leading to rush chances(which Spencer was beaten plenty of times glove side). Ths game featured two of the three leaders in PIM in the NHL, and it showed on Monday night with the two teams having a combined 12 Power play opportunities, which nobody scored. Minnesota Goalie Filip Gustavsson wasn't giving up any rebound opportunities to the Panthers and the Cats went 10 minutes without allowing a SOG to Minnesota. The Panthers looked to have run out of gas as they registered 0 SOG, but thankfully the game went to a shootout and Anton Lundell and Aleksander Barkov answered the bell and Sergei Bobrovsky slammed the door on Kirill Kaprizov and the Wild to come away with a huge two points. The Panthers take advantage of the Canadiens' 3 Bench Minors in the 2nd period as well, and the Cats were living in the dirty areas all night. The Panthers faced some adversity early as they lost Sergei Bobrovsky to injury and in came Calder Cup Champion Alex Lyon who went 23/25 on the night. Panthers also lost Eric Staal in the first period after an interference from Former Panther D Mike Matheson(which there was not penalty called) as well.
